  2. Hi there. The best advise i good give you would be to give them more exercise & mental stimulation. They wont chew if they are tiered & content.atb,Kev. How long do you take them out for?It may be worth checking thier diet.Maybe to much protien, giving them to much energy. Also depending on thier breeding if they have a lot of inteligence like say collie, they need more mental chalenges.Get bored easily.Luckily as mine are kept in house its not somthing ive much trouble with. Thanks,Kev i have them out every day some days they get out twice a day they get out on the lead and also get

  5. I gree with bird.If shes lost intrest then stop for a couple of weeks. Then start over again.I dont know how old your pup is but puppys genrally take things back to thier beds.If she is doing this it mite be worth trying getting her excited, throw toy/ball & sit in her bed.So she will associate you with her safe place.with a bit of luck shell soon be bringing it back to you without you sitting in her bed. Kev.
  6. What you have to remember is that while the dog is young this is just a game so runnig round in circles or dropping short is his way of getting you to chase him.you need to give him something that he values more than what you want him to give you.Whatever reward you use,yes only give when hes done what you want him to do.Again as i said before,a little often & if its not working out give it a rest for a few days.Keep it relaxed & fun. As lurchers are not bred fo retrieving its a game they can soon get bored of.I have also found that a well exercised dog is easyer to train than a dog t

    used chip fat!!

A friend of mine makes this (boi diesl). When they filter it they blend it with methanol.Smells like the fuel you get for RC cars.you have tobe careful what vehicle you run on it as you can wreck the injector pump.
  9. No problem, glad i can help somebody as you cant seem to do right for doing wrong for some people on here.
  10. Ive not used him myself but a good friend of mine says hes very, very good.
  11. Hi Water Badger.Glad to hear that worked for you.Id wait until he's retrieving balls, toys,or a dummy to hand consistantly. Then try the rabbit skin dummy.Do remember though every time you give the dog something new to retrieve hell probably run round with it like something gone daft for the first half dozen times, until he gets used to it & the novelty wears off.Again this will also happen when he starts to catch rabbits, even though hes used to the dummy its not like chasing & catching the real thing, just dont let him munch them up. With one of mine i let him carry the rabbit while we w

  16. I was given this today by the girl in pets at home.Thought it mite make you laugh.
  17. A trick that woked for me was to get the dog excited, throw the dummy.then when he picks it up start moving backwards until he reaches you.then stop.then give him whichever command you use to give you the dummy.Do this a few times then give it a rest.Do it again next training session.A little & often is the key.Dont rush or loose your rag,but lots & lots of praise or treat when hes doing good. Hope this helps.Let me know how you go on.Thanks,Kev.

Its amazing how your eyes & mind play tricks on you.I remeber looking up the feild one really dark night. On top of the browe was what looked like about 20 people coming towards me.The more i stared, the closer they got.Turned out to be the chimmneys on the houses over the other side. lol I had two drunks appear out of knowwere because apparently they thought my lamp was a UFO that was very wierd!! U puff out your chest and try to make yourself feel like your scared of nothing but if were all honest with ourselves when the minds playing tricks and your on your own just you and the dog

  22. If you follow what he says in his books you wont go wrong. As the man says,a dog is a dog.Doesnt matter what the bread.all dogs have pack mentality.Lead your dog & he will work with you,not because you train him to.But because he respects you & you respect him.only humans follow unbalnced leaders. Its worked for me.
