  1. NFU aren't the cheapers, but certainly are one of the best... never heard any bad stories about them and I've never had any trouble. Always quick to help on the phone as well.
  2. Hi - Haven't been on in a while so sorry my first thread backs a for sale one... I need some money! Selling my Stoeger X20 air rifle, brought around 4 months ago from John March firearms in Wimbourne, Dorset. Since then I've used it 5 times maximum couple times for rabbits and the rest for cans. It takes out rabbits with a decent shot no problem and has a good solid feel to it. Had maximum 100 pellets through it and comes with a used gun bag (which has various marks/stains on the exterior but the inside of its still nice!) and has a stoeger 3-9x40 scope on it, which again, feels and look
  3. I've just got round to filling my shotgun application again, and i'm not sure if i've misplaced the reference form or if you dont need one...can anyone clarify?
  4. Re-aquired it from my sisters boyfriend and its back up for sale... I've been offered 100 trade in at a local gunshop so if anyone can match/better that it's all yours! Gamo shadow .22 air rifle for sale, good condition. Few light scratches on the barrel where it has been leant against fencing wire and a couple of very very minor surface rust on the exterior of the barrel which i will remove before sale, bore is clean with no scratches. Gun has black synthetic stock and is nice and light. Got a hawke 4-12x40 ir HD scope on it in like new condition, not desperate for sale so asking for £10
  5. Hello - Haven't been on here in a while so I might as well update you on the situation. I never sent off my firearms and shotgun applications due to me only being 17 (I thought they'd be more likely to grant them if I was 18) I turned 18 last sunday, so I've got them all ready, just need the photos signed and the references. I still have around acres permission, crawling with rabbits and have a gamo shadow .22 air rifle to pick off the odd one or two. My dad has a Ruger 10-.22 and we go out shooting fairly regularly, if I got my firearms license, I'd share this gun with him until i found one
  6. Gamo shadow .22 air rifle for sale, good condition, comes with around 500 pellets, some Bisley hollow points and around 300 napier power pellets. Gun has black synthetic stock and is nice and light. Got a hawke 4-12x40 ir HD scope on it in like new condition, not desperate for sale so asking for £100. Located down south in dorset. If you want pictures, I'll get them! Thanks, Laurence
  7. I'll tell him, although I'm pretty sure he does anyway. Thanks for the heads up though
  8. Ok, he usually skins them and then feed them though - just to get his practice in
  9. I never feed our ferret rabbit - probably a myth but didn't want it to get a taste for rabbit meat. The ones I don't eat either go for the foxes or I give them to a mate for his ferret and dog. Good idea freezing them though - never thought of that...
  10. Thanks, I'll give eating them a miss I think! And theres a quite a few buzzards around so hopefully they'll get on with it haha. That's alright then, although peaches (the ferret) usually does quite a good job of dragging them up
  11. Wasn't sure where to put this topic, so thought I'd place it here... Please move it if it's in completely the wrong place. A couple of things really, just been out shooting for the first time in a while, didn't manage to get a lot which was frustrating and also noticed a lot, of the 10 or so rabbits I saw, 4 were showing signs of mixi - Managed to get all 4 and a squirrel, but was wondering what you do with the infected rabbits once you've shot them? I guess leaving them in the field leaves the rest of the population at risk and could also spread it with fox's carrying them round. And secondly
  12. thankyou mate, I'm sure i'll get round to getting it on the road at some point
  13. Need some money to get my VFR400 on the road and other things! So have to sell a few of my things unfortunately. First up is my 2010 Stomp 140 pit bike, probably won't be much interested on here but is worth a try! I bought it second hand from a lad in Bognor Regis named Luke who is good friends with Callan Wood (for those who don't know, Stomp's head mechanic and one of their riders also owns CW bikes in bognor.) Has been quite a few things done to this bike, and has in excess of £1000 (including bike spent on it) It's been well looked after and had oil changed with 10w40 semi-synthetic
  14. hhaha, unfortunately not! very similar looking, but theres quite a few differences. Heres a link to the specs if your interested SFC1000 - http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/laverda/laverda_1000sfc%2085.htm Jota 1000 - http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Laverda/laverda_1000_jota%2082.htm doesn't really go into a huge amount of detail but its a good at a glance comparison.
  15. lol............. keep em coming... dont forget this bike has done pushing 300000kms.. this thread was not about r1 v busas,,i was just trying to show people that it dont matter what you ride,, its still possible to get round the world on machines that dont look the part.. this lad was a one man band,, and a pleasure to meet.. not a ewan/charley with a full backup team behind them... great thread mate, nice to see it's still possible, my dad rode overland with my mum on a brand spanking Laverda Jota 1200 back along that's still in the garage, one owner from new! love hearing the sto
  16. can you get pictures of the other two mate, or a link to what the style? I'll most likely have them off you
  17. Thankyou man, sounds tasty! I'll be giving that a go. Found this recipe after a bit of googling - sounds quite tasty so I thought I'd share - 1 rabbit, cut up 2 T. salt 3 eggs, beaten 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4. tsp pepper Cut up rabbit. In a lg. pot, fill about half way with water. Add 2 T. salt, and bring to a boil. Add rabbit, and parboil for 1/2 hr. Drain and let cool. Beat eggs in a bowl. Put flour on a plate, and mix with salt and pepper. Dip rabbit pieces, one at a time, into egg, and then flour mixture. Meanwhile, on high, heat 1/2" of oil in a lg.
  18. Bit of an apologetic thread and want to make a new start with some of you that I probably came across as a bit of a twat on the other one - so just wanted to clear the ground and get some new advice! Wasn't quite sure where to put this post so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong topic area So sorry for being such a noob. Last time I was on here, I clearly didn't go down too well - Sorry about that. Taken all advice onboard, got a better scope and spent a lot more time shooting targets, now I've left school I've alot more time on my hands to mess about so my shooting has improved quite a b
