terriermen who do this are shite at their jobs. i also think its an unfair reflection and general miss conception of what a hunt terrierman does. you and i both know alot more should go on. agreed there are lots of so called hunt men who do do this, but that dosent make it right.... these aint the kind of dogs im talking about

and what about terriers? like teaching them to be quiet. on a serious not, my opinion is all dogs need training for their requirements from day 1, mainly through exposure and socializing to what they are expected to do, anything more can be good but often unnecessary and confusing. train for purpose.

mixed thoughts on this thread.firstly i like the pic and the tale. mostly who ever think that there are no quality terrier with professional terriers are just being twats.the fact is some of the best and most regularly worked dogs are in hunt service, there is no better way to get good regular work. and to del, you say you like to work all your dogs which is good, but why do you chose to kennel so many?your bitch could get you 50 foxes a season so why have more than a couple of her progeny?

this thread is full of some crap, there are plenty of good russells out there. the main problem in not being able to find good one is because people do breed of untested crap examples and end up with crap. you may enjoy working your dogs but despite your protest whiles you are doing what your doing and breeding off untested dogs your adding to your own problem.

Legend of a man he is too I've met quite a few lads and lasses off here and another hunting site and they have all been sound a legend ....wasnt he plummers long lost son!! i did think to much of him until i learnt he was plummer son, when you speak to him in depth he does open up, hes knows alot of the old breeding. -
