  1. o jeez, tell you what re-read the thread properly and you pm me if you still dont get it the numbers mean something and have a value for a reason. if not why state them?!? you stated it was in yards, so thats what i based my posts on. can someone who has this box and does alot of game confirm the facts on the numbers etc to clear it up for people who want to go and do it. bellman is in meters and works, when i have dug to this system it has also been in meteres. as for carving.... i get my fill
  2. maybe some folks should read the whole thread. if your all happy with shoddy equipment then crack on. just seems fairly backward to me. noone can offer an explanation or conclusion just daft comments... says alot about how much you do to me
  3. bang, are you saying that hounds that dont mark are no use not entirely, some hounds chase foxes as there job and they love it, some hounds hate foxes and want to kill foxes. in my eyes as a terrierman, these are the hounds i like and think should be bred off etc. most hounds that hate foxes and hunt for blood will mark. back in the day there were ways to make hounds mark that were very affective, but there still needs to be that blood lust there. agree with Don's last statement. not sure im correct on this but i think in recent years with more gun packs and more gun pack type a
  4. i do seem to remeber you trying to tell me how to dig a hole once... shame it was to a rabbit..... darcy
  5. nothing is more accurate if its reading way over the odds, that much os obvious!they are not just a made upscale, they have value or they wouldnt be there. anyone can imagen how deep a meter or a yard would be, this is why its relivant. i didnt post for an argumnet, just pointing out facts and advice, facts you have taken offence to and that you cant explain. that is not my problem
  6. no you said they were 2.+ marks and that is measures in yards... a yard is 3ft, so 6ft+ digs. which they are not simple. so either your bullshitting or you need to send your box back and get it sorted. if its reading 6ft when its 3 ft id hate to think what it reads when it actually 6ft and even 1ft.... the numbers are there to give you a guide, other wise you might aswell just have the noise. just pointing out the obvious. i shant loose any sleep as it aint my box so not my prob.however i do enough digging to know that my equipment is bang on, as it needs to be and i thought it was dodgy i
  7. first ive heard of that, and ive used one on a few occasions, but i shall take your word for it. however a yard i belive is only 10cm short of a meter or in other terms 2.1 would be over 6ft. anyone who has done any amount of digging can tell that neither of those holes are 6ft, nowhere near infact. you seem a genuine feller, so i can only assume your box is out.
  8. good post but first inst 2.1 deep and secound isnt 2.2 deep. either your bending the truth or theres someting very wrong with your box. both look like 0.8/0.6 digs. good sport tho
  9. i had a bitch that did it all the time to ground, never seemed to have any ill affect. i have a bitch out of her now that does it when she marks and when you brake through and split them up. if its the same thing, like a grunting noise i thinks its just a thing they do sometimes. the old bitch was that noisy she got nicknames the snorkeler.
  10. never met a good one yet all f*****g idiots.

  17. .......nice, shall get my grubby mitts on a copy!!
  18. To say ANY amount of culling will not get rid of them is just silly. silly but true. they have tried and tired and still have the same numbers of litters.foxes clearly found their natural level. theyare not doing it for fun , they are doing it profesioanlly to get rid of foxes on that esate. its not just this easte either, it happens up and down the country. culling will obviously reduce numbers(till nxt year) but in no way will make foxes "run out" there is a very well known phrase, "the more you kill the more will be there next season"
