  1. Well now you mention it,nah only joking.I've got a couple of medal heads there,a silver and a bronze, don't think i'll ever get the elusive gold.I'll have bloody good fun trying tho.
  2. That is a nice head, tall and symetrical with good pearling high up the antlers,i would think good silver, let us know mind.Well done.
  3. I knew i'd get an invite down to yours if i kept on.I'll bring these top notch snares and tealers that i got taught to make and open a big can of whoop-ass on you lads.
  4. C'mon now lads don't be like that, you know us Scots are better at snaring than you boys. After all, you's all had to come up here to learn in the frirst place didn't you!
  5. I would just like to point out that i am as good as if not better than p&g and woodga and the likes at snaring as i was taught by an old trapper up here in Scotland when i was 15.So if anyone requires advise on snaring feel free to give me a shout.
  6. Me and my mate just shot 217 cushies on laid barley yesterday, they were suicidal, couldn't keep them off the field(you'll know what i mean p&g!).Pm me your location Madhunter and i'll see what i can do for you,cos as i always like to say "a friend in need is a fu***ng pest, get rid of them"....lol....
  7. It's been a member of the corvid family, probably crow or magpie.Typical signs of both.
  8. A mate of mine is looking to get his first lurcher and has asked me to post on here and ask the opinion of you lot as to what breed would suit his needs best. He is gonna be using it for most things, but mainly rabbits, hares and foxes.
  9. Good pics JD,especially the jay on it's nest.I've never found a jays nest before though it's not for the want of trying.Do they nest low in bushes etc rather than high up like crows?
  10. Great pics Lamper,do u know if 6 eggs is the usual for moorhens as i found a nest last year with 12 in it,might have been 2 laying in 1 nest maybe right enough.
  11. Lovely pair of paps,eh i mean pups in the bottom photo.
  12. Sounds like your doing things right BC apart from trying to snare them at the entrances to their dens, don't do it.My tutor G.S.Waters says use a 10" loop,10" high so you aint that far off at that.Keep trying, you'll get there in the end, just don't give up,ask Woodga,he seems to be the top trapper/snarer on here.
  13. I have used various semi autos over the years, mostly Berreta,i have a nice 303 at the moment which fits me like a glove. It's a pity you didn't live closer i could've sold you a nice Fabarm with various chokes and barrel lengtheners to suit all occasions.
  14. Theiving scum,u wonder what goes through their heads.
  15. I found a robins nest with 5 eggs,a blackies nest with 3 eggs and a song thrush nest with 4 chicks in it whilst out raking yesterday,it does take you back to when you were younger right enough, except in those days i might have rumbled an egg or two.
  16. Hope she works out fine for ya Woodga, she looks fine.
  17. I hope you didn't dump in them instead!
  18. Well done Foxy and Burnie, good to get them but don't you prefer bucks in hard antler?
  19. My mate has a patterdale bitch at 8 mths old,she is readily going through earths that we know to be empty cos we've had the older dogs through them first, she's marked the last 3 foxes that we've had. What age would you reccomend we let her go to her first fox,as she is showing a lot keener at her age than any of our previous dogs have?
  20. Can't see anything,don't know if it's just me.

    ratting

I,ve had mixed results with the smoker, sometimes the rats can't get out quick enough and just the noise can get them going and other times like you said they just won't shift.Always trust your dogs though and if the smoker don't work get the spade out(if it's diggable).
