  1. I have a few air guns some being pcps .I often use a 97k over a hw 100 both in 177 for rabbit shooting .If no rabbits show and I get bored I can target shoot at stuff and not have to worry about a refill of air .If I was forced to use a 97k over a hw 100 I would not worry I may prefer the 97k .no messing about with 97k stick in a pellet and let them have it.
  2. I did like my pistol that I had to saw up years ago made by them.If it is like that for build quality it has to be good .
  3. aa hw are a lot better better than the bsa [gamo] .which gun is better a tx200 or a 97k who knows
  4. I believe the tx needs very little grease .that is why it has the plastic rings for the piston to ride on .you could remove all packing washers .if all the excessive grease has been removed out of the piston [air chamber] if there is loads of grease behind the piston that is ok BUT to much grease behind the air chamber will get into the air chamber in time ,so not putting to much grease is the best thing to do .just a tiny amount of grease in air chamber will diesel .if the front of the piston [air chamber] has no grease AT ALL .and all the packing washers are removed and you shoot your gun an
  5. you may be able to put a little packing with your old spring .but that may stop the gun cocking properly.
  6. ....... if you put the new spring back and the gun shoots at 25 ftlbs and there is no smoke when you shoot the gun .then I guess you have to cut the spring or get a less powerful spring .
  7. It seems to me that gun is near the limit .they say in there blurb 11 ftlbs ,but on a hot day that will go higher than 11 and on a cold day lower .so the gun is at full power I guess.
  8. .........no matter what spring was it a tx200 it could not go as high as 25 ftlbs [ I could be wrong] .I have also noticed with a to powerful spring a drop in power because the piston bouncing back and cutting the spring increasing power [on a different spring gun but similar power as a tx].To get that power level you must be dieseling .oil on pellets ..oil around the breech..grease or oil in air chamber..I would check that first ..Assuming your gun is a standard tx .
  9. has to be dieseling .or your calculations are wrong .or your crono reading are wrong .
  10. air arms s400. hw 100 ,fx verminator are guns I like .s400 simple. hw 100 regulated.fx verminator nice compact gun good shot count....177 cheap pellets ....the pellet gets to the target before it can move....and 177 stops as good as 22 at 40 yards.
  11. gas ram NO .The myth they dont lose power like a spring .They leak gas like a balloon .they do shoot nice they dont just drop into the gun you have to mess a bit .A tuned up spring is better .....but if you want good performance from a spring gun spend your money on a good gun a standard 97k will out shoot a lightning tuned to the max .the 97k will probably be cheaper in the long run and is a better made gun with a 1000 percent better trigger.there are a lot of better guns than a lightning just put a new spring in it .If you want to spend money get a better gun .
  12. take the same approach to a stealth a hard drugs .just say NO
  13. I put a titan xs spring in my lightning .It fitted ok .but I had to use a spring compressor . It shoots 11.8 with light pellets 177 .so in a 22 i would think you would have to chop the spring down a bit .I put a fitted spring guide and a top hat in my gun at the same time.To change the spring is not to hard .To change the piston seal is a biggish problem so leave that if the spring does the job .When the spring come out you can tell if it is broken or collapsed. if so that is most likely the problem .
  14. just thought if your gun was dieseling the piston could be damaged
  15. what pellets .light pellets give high power .if it has a mecanical problem the spring may have snapped .the gamo bsa springs are rubbish .I did a little test .not to say tron is wrong it was a little test .I found in the cold spring guns give a little more power .the grease may thicken but there is very little grease compared to the stifferning of the main spring .If the spring has snapped then the gun may be a little grindy feel when cocking the gun.there could be other reasons .
  16. I belive some one was in the same position after drownung a squirel a few years back .So what I read was the best thing to do with a captured squirel must be to call the rspca to collet and deal with the squirel .being it is ilegall to release a grey squirel and it will starve in the trap. That then will give the rspca something to do and think about.
  17. or you could put a new front sight blade in the gun that was higher than the present one .It would have to be made special .light pellets may drop the shot because they leave the gun sooner that heavy slower pellets. So when the gun kicks up the light pellet leaves the gun first and as the gun kicks up more the heavier pellet leaves the barrel second
  18. 0r tap the front sight .one of the sights may be obviously of center .
  19. to sort out left and right you can tap the rear sight on the side and make it move in the dove tail .IT MAY COME LOSE IF YOU TAP IT TO MUCH .up and down just get used to it .I did once file some metal of the top of my sight when I was young and stupid to correct it .A bit of a failure .I would not re blue gun my self .I would shoot and use the gun a lot .then when I new the gun working properly and my shooting with it was correct .I would adjust the sights left and right .try different pellets .
  20. can you see the little brass piece in the picture .[that one has the wrong thread size ] It holds the valve .there are 4 little holes in it .On the won in your gun it just has 2.the piece is located under the top hat .I was able to remove mine from the EMPTY bottle very easy and leave the valve adjustment alone .just get a point into one of the holes and unscrew the valve assembly complete .There is an o ring that could leak [replace] or the valve seat could be damaged [that can be repaired like you repair valves in an engine ,but it is a lot easeyer. I used autosolve metal polish as a lapping
  21. .....this is a bit of the rubbish I have left lying around as a momento of owning a stealth .
  22. I had a stealth .It was fun to mess with .but in the uk there are big penalties for over powered guns??? .I did get the gun to shoot nice but the power had to be set low to be safe .I sold the gun and got a hw 100 .but I did learn a lot about pcp s making bits valves and hammers ect . ...... If you wont a gun to just shoot bin the stealth .In America were the stealth [talon] is a cheap powerful gun they must be a good gun.
