    14 ftlbs max would be good I think.an average 177 pellet 850 ft sec .this would be perfect ,a shot gun would only have an advantage on moving small game .a 14 ftlbs air rifle would be better than a shot gun ,no noise , cheaper to use ,able to stalk rabbits and shoot at grater distances.This advantages may stop some people getting a shot gun less shot guns less shot gun crime,this would suit the do gooders ,but more air guns more air gun crime.12 is ok 14 would be great I feel.

    There is only one solution get both guns .Then you just have work out mark 2 or mark 3 ..97k or 77 ..25mm or 26mm cylinders ...carbine or full length...and a little bit of pro sport and was my gun made on a friday afternoon ,after the pub throughn in.

    I had a bsa scope it fell apart on a bsa lightning [i think it was an BSA essential ] I did like the scope up untill that point .I dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing ,it was easy to set the scope up the eye relief was variable ,with your eye close to the scope or away from the scope you could still get a good picture .on most scopes I have used your eye has to be a one exact distance from the ocular lens.So a bsa scope ????? if it is cheap I would give one a go again there is a bit of shock from the spring ,with a bsa lightning.BUT someone may and will know better than me .

    spring steel is an alloy of steel and carbon largely .There may be other metals or minerals to give the manufactured steel different properties .stainless steel an alloy of chromium and steel will make a spring but an ALLOY of steel and carbon will make a better spring .with the correct heating and cooling.you can make a spring out of aluminium but not a powerful one if you wanted a light weak spring ALUMINIUM may be ok.

    97k 177 .it is the only way to go...I,S GOT TO KNOW..will be in the back of your mine fore ever.I have not read any one complain about a 97k 177.After a few thousand pellets mine is shooting smooth at 11.5 ftlbs.

    I do wonder if gas rams are that good .If they were as good as the adds you would think there would be more in use.They have been around for a good few years .The new springs seem to be very strong and longer lived that the old springs ,this may be my imagination or they may have a newer alloy .How long these springs will be made to this quality or my dilution will last who knows ...but this makes me suspicious of gas rams ...I have wanted to get a cheap hw 90 to mess with to answer the question for my self.I do feel the gas rams for lightnings ect are a waste of time,from my limited experienc

    in my youth I had a hw 35 .I did not like the mechanism that locked the barrel shut .I had to work with the mechanisum a bit to improve accuracy .A hw 35 would not be on my short list ,but all the guns on your list would not be on my list .I would think the hw 99 would be the best gun.to chews .the only gun on your list I have used is the hw 35.

    if your gun is shooting 737 to 763 foot pounds you could try shooting some big game .

    my personal opinion but i wont touch waterproof clothes, its like trying to stalk wearing a crisp packet. id rather get wet The crisp bag effect is a problem but it can be over come with slow slow walking and movement .I have some water proof clothes with a massive hood that covers my face .If it rains when iam out I sit down and wait for the rain to stop with hood up ,i can fall asleep .never get wet ,sometime out shooting dawn to dusk 12 hours more or less .would not want to be wet for that long .rabbits dont seem to come out in rain much ,but between heavy showers they do so moving aroun

    this hunting with catapults ??? is legal in uk ?? hunting with bows is not .I have a crossbow that shoots lead balls [30FTLBS]so this would be illegal to hunt with in uk but an arrow in a catapult is ok or not??? not wanting to start a ban this ban that thing going surely it should be hunting with arrows illegal hunting with shot not illegal .law making politicians and do gooders you have got to love them.

    a tx200 is what I told my mate to get he went for the cfx .I think he wishes he when the tx 200 route now ,He has had no problems with his gun thus far but the cheap feel and noise .If you feel like a swap I can always get you my mates number ....You made the right choice a bit of money now will save you loads down the line .

    falcon accuracy plus may be worth trying also .air arms field are good falcon accuracy are similar but lighter .The pellets are all made by jsb .

    Oh dear. I have just looked closer at the sight and all of the active light gubins is in the front of the sight .my thoughts were to fit a digital camera and a screen in place of the ocular len on a standard scope not the objective lens.a screen like on the eyeclops toy similar or better.and a powerful ir light in the mix some were .if something like this was mass produced it would have to be very cheap for night vision scope .I cannot see why it wont work .

    I would think this type of sight was an obvious progression in night vision to any of us making our own night sights .also I would think in the way of the world it will be come a lot cheaper .Looks like a nice scope lightish use it day and night I would think .may be a problem on spring guns maybe .If you get one you can let every one know and make us sick.

    make your own .its isnt that hard ,cost less than 100 quid .getting the ir illuminator cost the most .cheap security camera ,cheap monitor ,a board lens for the camera,a cheap battery.some connecting cables,the problem is mounting this stuff on your gun there is loads of information on this site and others and ytube.the nite site you can make your self with this cheap stuff is a lot lot better than gen 1 night scope that can cost 600 quid.For shooting rabbits may be not in a war zone.

    and keep your air hose connectors ect stupidly clean .you are not just pumping up a bike tyre.
