  1. the 97k has a better shot count than the s200 .
  2. what do you mean by tuned , a new spring and such ? i have been looking at OX spring but they have alot of bad press not for power tuned for smoothness tx 200 is tuned up when you get it most air guns new are have a standard spring and spring guide with a bit of play .a tuned spring and spring guide are a tight fit basicly so when shot the gun the spring dosent vibrate .but I have a 97k that is standard and it is ok .
  3. I use both pcp and spring, spring guns no messing around full power with a light pellet so loads of pellet speed ,good if you want to stay out some where and not have to fill gun with air .good spring guns tend to be heavy if tuned are still a little noisey compared to most pcps.pcp quite light weight ease to shoot .spring guns you have to practice and think a bit more to shoot accurate , pcp s you have to learn about and understand power curve the shoot accurately .I would think most spring guns would handle being dropped and banged about a bit better than a pcp.out shooting rabbits both gun
  4. very close but one tin of aa field will differ from another tin of aa field .so your gun may shoot a tin of jsb better than tin of aa field or viceversa .so if there are no aa field I would use jsb no problem
  5. I had a hw 35 in it 1978 it was crap .Just get any old 97k it may be fine but like all thing it may be s... .I would be happy to get a new 97, if it looked like s... in the shop then I would not .You could get an old gun that is s... or a new gun that is fine I think you are worrying over nothing .The only difference between old and new is piston size and you will have to get a very old gun for that to matter .but in a country were there is no power limit they will want newer guns.
  6. I have read that 97 and 77 s with the older smaller diameter pistons are better guns at 12 ftlbs .I have a 97 with the larger diameter piston and the older stock .It is a very good
  7. A long time ago I made hand made shot gun and there was a shot gun in for repair made for some one with one eye .when we made the safety mechanism for the guns we first had to set the strap that the safety sits on .This would be about an 1/8 of an inch or so and was was made to measure for the person the gun was being made for .The strap on the gun in for repair had the cast I think it was called set inches so the gun would go into your right shoulder and line up with the shooters remaining left eye .The stock of the gun was a bit like a dogs leg when finished.
  8. it may have logun on the gun but it may be and fx air gun with logun stamped on it I have 1 fx gun and do like it .fx guns are not the same as s16 .with no real information about the guns who knows .If the mark 1 is an fx I would say the gun could be good to consider .Parts may be a problem .If I was choosing it would be which is 177 ,which gun has the highest shot count ,which gun is in mint condition and shoots well. The fx may have a pressure gauge not sure but if one of the guns has a pressure gauge that is a big plus.
  9. I would not care if the gun had been tuned or not .I would prefer the gun to be original if only 6 weeks old.350 if I needed the gun bad .if you think the tune is better than original and the gun shoots very well and you want and need a gun that is LOCAL to you 400 may be ok .But if you can wait ,on the gun sale sites you may get a gun for 300 or less .
  10. I was thinking this ...but hw 100 has a regulator ...so mabe something got into you gun when the cylinder was off and has now messed up your regulator ..if you lowered the pressure in the cylinder to 90 bar and your gun seemed to shoot ok this may be the problem.
  11. I had a xs spring I had to cut loads of in an omega 22 .I have an xs spring in a bsa lightning 177 perfect from the start .something I did find out cutting the omega spring one coil at a time ,a to powerful spring can make your gun shoot harsh and makes you loose power from the piston bouncing so much .So you will have to find the max power of the gun ,shoot it, if it shoots harsh and below power start cutting coils of 1 or half at a time .your spring could also be fine hope this makes sense .
  12. you havent put a stupid amount or air in the gun.??just checking.
  13. dont know if this thread is still going but the pellets you are using are to heavy for a spring gun, in a pcp they will work slow heavy but full power .In a spring gun the pellets you are using will have a very low power level when you shoot them .You have to use light pellets that are accurate in your gun giving you good power and accuracy.
  14. super dome and long rang gold I fond good in spring guns not so good in pcp .For pcp I would try aa field for a heavy pellet [ also called jsb exact daystate li ,fx ] falcon accuracy plus for a light pellet [also called jsb rs ] .also jsb express like mosquito express all these pellets are supposed be a little bit different but they are very similar .never tryed jsb express but I still have a few tins of mosquito express very good pellets.
  15. is this april fool .my gun has the cal stamped on the barrel and the person posing the question is a MEGA HUNTER . whats going on?
  16. try it at 130 bar..my unregulated pcps shoot at about 140 130 bar is the top of power curve .
  17. the first time I change my spring in my omega I had a piece of metal bent a bit like a tuning fork I pushed it in the end of the gun held the spring pressure and removed the pin that holds the spring in .now I am older and I use a spring press i have made .getting the spring out is not that hard .45 plus vat that is a bit much but they have a shop to keep .but like I said to problem may be the power level .
  18. What power is your gun now The eclipse goes up to a high power .I put a new spring in my omega it was shooting very high untill I cut loads of the spring the omega dosent go as high powered as the eclipse .so putting in a spring may be a bit more than just putting in a spring if it is a titan xs spring .If you have the original webley spring you may be fine .I had to assemble and disassemble my gun a lot of times cutting a coil or a half a coil at a time and test shooting the gun to get the power right. If your power is low you may correct it with a few washers .
  19. my gun has a loose piston so the cocking dog did not work well .so I beat a bit of the cocking dog to make it bigger but after a few 100 shot the repair stated to fail.so I buttoned the piston to make it fit better this seems to have worked ,but I feel the trigger may be a week point on these guns.
  20. the cocking dog is loose .it gets pushed by the piston when you cock the gun.
  21. maybe they got shot at some where else .some one may have a fishing lake nearby .
  22. It would very hard to make a pellet worse than the wasp 5.6 .
