  1. I go for light pellets in spring gun .heavy pellets can give a massive power drop from spring guns .
  2. you may have not put that little catch thing on the right .and you may be shooting air only because you havent put a pellet in the barrel because the mag isnt rotating untill you engaged the little catch ,do it often my self .
  3. I wonder if the cylinder is crashing into the end of the barrel and this is making the barrel opening for pellets close up .
  4. they seem good at maintaining there form and dont weaken .I have one in a bsa lightning 177 perfect fit and power ,but I put one in a webley omega 22 and had to cut a few coils of the spring to get power down .
  5. I wonder if your breach is damaged or you have now got the skirt of a pellet stuck in your barrel .the funny noise may have been the head coming of a pellet leaving the skirt behind .
  6. not sure just thinking aloud .is there oil in the barrel??dieseling.. Is there a load of water pumped into the gun ??say pumping up the gun on a wet wet day .the smoke could be condensation. All so if the gun is dieseling some how then the pressure in the barrel could make air come out of the breech .if the smoke is condensation and your gun is shooting ok you will have to tighten up the piece of metal that shuts of the breech. if the bolt feels loose then this may be the problem .not saying this the problem just maybe
  7. What is the best material to make a spring guide out of .If the spring guide is to fit the spring perfectly mild steel ,stainless steel, brass ???,plastic .the spring guide would be polished when finished .
  8. also have you tried different pellets .what pellets are you using
  9. my cheap bipod 6 ...9 is fine ,.I walk about with it on 6 ,opening gates ect you can put gun on the ground .so as to open the gate quiet .if I shoot I open it up to 9 .with no swivel and short legs the gun is stable when left on the ground opening gates .I maybe use the bi pod as an aid for placing the gun on the ground more than shooting .If the grass is long I sit on the ground and shoot of my knee .
  10. It must be a simple problem o ring ,spring ,or some adjustment or lube .grinding bits sounds like mistake .Have you checked if air is leaking out of the breach area .MAKE SURE THE BARREL IS EMPTY .Hold your finger with smooth leather gloves to be safe at the end of barrel to seal muzzle end and shoot a blast of air see if it leaks out .If the gun is over 12 ft lbs may be not .with a moderator on the gun it is better less pressure .
  11. the one problem I noticed with aa they are a nice pellet .the soft lead and the theoben mag are a problem i weakened the spring in the mag a bit to solve the problem .the problem is when you load a pellet from a full mag second and third go into place with a bit of powerfull click because of the compressed mag spring .this bends the skirt on the soft aa pellet .when the mag empties it is less of a problem because the spring is less compressed .A bent pellet less accuracy .
  12. I got a cheapo bi pod short 6..9 not swivel I also got a swivel 9...13 a bit better quality .the cheapo bi pod being short is a good thing less stress on its parts .the only problem I have had with the cheapo bi pod is the rubber bits that contact the stock came unstuck so I reglued them on but I glued the rubber bits so they go across rather than along the stock as they were originaly. If your rubber bits come loose you will understand try putting them back crossways it is better on my gun .you dont have to glue them to experiment .
  13. 65 yards is very possible . the 77 is accurate enough and will have the power at 65 yards with a 12 ft lbs .you could use the chair gun program to get an idea if you gun is well over powered .shoot pellets at 10 20 30 40 50 60 yards work out how much your pellet drops.....or get or use a chrono
  14. I have both .the aa is a bit better built, but for shooting rabbits 97k has to win .
  15. I would repair .It may cost, you may fail , but you will learn how the gun works and future repairs will be a lot easier to do as you will understand more about pcp s .
  16. They are both as accurate as eachother... not to many brake barrel target guns
  17. If you want accuracy 97k if you want something to carry easy 95 .s 400 less to go wrong I dont think magazines are all that great .magazines are good shooting at night if you dont drop the magazine in long grass at night .
  18. yes my father kept telling me how crap my webley super target was in 177 .I was 13 years old he said I should have gotten a 22 they are better.when I got older and got a 22 what a let down .
  19. harsh 177 smooth 22 ??? with the HARSH 177, the pellet is out of the gun and down range when the harshness happens , the 22 has to be SMOOTH because when the smoothness happens the pellet is still crawling down the big fat tube with its massive pellet .
  20. check the gun is shooting consistently with a crono .check the scope and barrel are tight no movement . [ the scope may have a fault ????]. check the crown has not been damaged .clean barrel ????. and you are using good quality dome pellets .
  21. Also I was told someone was invited to look into the back of a van .the van was full of caged foxes going to Wales from London .
  22. It would be nice if the RSPCA would get cat owners to stop there cats killing song birds .Also I do believe foxes captured in London are released in Wales and Leicestershire I have heard this from four different people .Some one is supposed to have shot a fox with a tag on it .Harringay on tag .This is what I have heard not what I know .
  23. bsa might be the same price but hw are a lot better guns .If the bsa is working correctly and cheap then it is ok to shoot rabbits ,but if it goes wrong .hw is the gun to buy easy ,even if it cost more better build, better trigger and easy to strip down and repair ,or tune.
  24. years ago I had webley spot wield a scope rail on my mark3 super target .You could make a scope rail out of metal drill holes through it then wield it to the gun through the holes .Or get a gun with a scope rail and use the bsa with open sights .
