Air Rifle Licensing Debate, Airgun Licensing

IF the french raising there power limit of unlicensed air gun from 6 ft lbs to 15 ft lbs is adopted in the eu that would be fine for us .maybe northern Ireland should be brought into the rest of the uk with its air guns .Then we can all go for the french model .The big thing that puzzles me is WHY are some rules and laws that are enforced BECAUSE ITS THE EU pay pay pay ,and others ignored . -
this is interesting .I guess the 6 ft lbs law is transgressed by every one .when someone gets a gun at 6 ft lbs they put in a stronger spring in it .The problems to society is nil so why make owning a 15 ft lbs air gun a crime .This puts us euro politicians are going to stop every thing in our places .This has to be good news .

also some of the people in the vid say air guns bring youngsters into shooting so they learn safety before they move onto the big stuff [paraphrasing]....THE WRONG ANSWER....no guns at all is the correct answer well only guns fore the top in society .Air guns are a gateway gun, god knows how many people I have met and have never shot a gun , shoot an air gun and soon get or want to get a shotgun. -

The big scary thing is when the law is passed there will be a load of guns that no one wants or cant use legally .So people who dont really want an air gun or dont care what happens to air gun owners ,may find them selves in possession of a now throw away item and just have a bit of fun before putting the gun in the bin creating the problem they wish to stop .The news papers and antis at the bbc ext will have a field day the bad press will affect use down south. -

what I was trying to say is when children being killed is used in the debate as the reason for controlling guns then any one defending guns also APPEARS to defends the killing of children .Gun equals dead children if you want a gun you want dead children you cannot argue ,any common scents is lost to the emotion generated by a dead child .This hole air gun ban ..control thing is Dunblane ...tony got political glory from that .....then and now Andrew Morton 2 year old [baby] small child ..this is all about killing children or using the deaths of children for political gain...............just no -
some one said earlier on, a captive bolt gun .my mate used a spring power one to despatch some animals once sounded a bit bad to me .

making the world safe for children is what the politicians chant to get elected .If you suggest that they are talking rubbish , that means you want to kill babies ,as demonstrated by the portly gent shot with an air gun .The argument gets deflected the more you justify air guns the more you condone the killing of children . Politicians use peoples emotions to gain control of there minds and get that x . If the project goes wrong then the people that voted are to blame because thats what they wanted ,if the project is a success then we can thank the wonderful politician . -

Its good to see you manage to still blame the English for what a Scott voted in by the Scott s is going to do to the Scott s .If a rabid nationalist is still working for the English I guess there no hope for any one. -

after watching this I can now see the light , if some one wishes to shoot a politician in Scotland with and air gun say like a 50 to a 100 quid chinese thing they will find this hard in the future , If they don,t have a car and don,t know the way to england .So they will have to shoot a bow or crossbow ,slingshot or a spear gun instead if they wish to assault a politician with a ranging weapon and keep it legal .I think we can take house brick or petrol bomb out of the equation because you have to throw these items using your arms it may be hard to ban or control arms.[arms as in arms and legs -
accuracy from a good quality under lever like a hw97k hw77 or tx200 and a pcp like s400 theoben rapid 7 are the same but the spring powered rifle is a bit harder to shoot well and takes a bit of practice .If you are on a budget there is nothing wrong with a spring gun .pcps can be a lot of messing about I have pcp and spring guns and often use the spring gun because of less trouble .The one big advantage a pcp has, is its ability to be silenced but a well tuned spring gun like a tx 200 is pretty quiet .

Bsa Lightening Question
barrywhite replied to hobble's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
If your lightning with the theoben ram in , and the ram is the correct for the gun .caliber model ect the power should be bang on full power 11.8 ftlbs mine was .BUT the ram may become faulty mine did it stared to loose pressure and oil and started to shoot at 11 ftlbs .my gun is a 177 I replaced the ram with an xs spring and and a spring guide made to fit the spring exactly .shooting the gun now it is smoother than the ram and shooting 11.6 ftlbs constant .but the spring in a 22 I think some spring would have to be chopped of . -
I live in west london,I have done buttoning to a gun of mine . Do you past west london ever .I would like to say I will do it ,the fear I have is the responsibility ,the job it is not a big thing .The only problem I could have is if the piston is hardened but I dont think it is .most of my cutters and drills are just highcarbon steel and my lathe if it still runs is a piece of chinese rubbish.
-
if you knew what you were doing you could do buttoning your self .On the net some where some one does it with a blacken decker drill ,some one else does it buy sticking the buttons on .you make the buttons over size first then turn ,file ,or polish down in size to fit cylinder exact. I have read the transfer port is better left alone .

there are plenty of countries with tougher controls than england .no air guns or mabe with a licence ,no catapults .no hunting with air guns ,no hunting with catapults were they are allowed to be used .
-
air guns are a GATEWAY GUN for sure .....The problem that macaskill is going to solve in scotland that dosent exist , will be a lot worse if the neds learn about cheap powerful untraceable [throw away if homemade] silent catapults also having more power than a 12 ft lbs air gun .macaskill just wants some of the euro gravy train . the eu like macaskill wants its sheeple unarmed not its elite even hitler didnt disarm the elite .

value for money the best multi shot has to hw 100 .It costs a bit but the gun shoots and operates great ,as to weaver a multi shot is good or not that is a question .

At the moment the regulations vary from state to state however the Basc recently raised some Eu proposals that concerned them. The concern was that the Eu's agenda was a ban on all civillian ownership of firearms including low powered air rifles Quoted from Basc The European Commission has launched a European-wide consultation entitled “A common approach to reducing the harm caused by criminal use of firearms in the EU”. The consultation involves completing an online questionnaire with multiple choice questions by 17th June. Most of the questions/answers are biased and the results could be
