  1. its not caliber its what speed is best and the pellet with the best ballistic coefficient .14 grain 177 has better BC than a 14 grain 22 or ..a 177 with the same BC as a 22 the 177 will move faster .why if 22 is the same accuracy as 177 and with mythical stopping power is used at closer ranges than 177 .at 12 ft lbs 177 is my vote
  2. is the breech seal fine also is the spring weak or way to strong you can get power loss with a to powerful spring .You may have swapped a split seal for a tight seal .1000 pellets may change things also did you use loads of grease when putting the gun back together
  3. did you shoot the gun before you pulled it a part .did it shoot well.?for a quick solution a chronograph would help to check if your gun is shooting consistently if it is shooting consistently .check every thing is tight and fitting correct nothing loose check your scope check the barrel shuts with no movement .If the gun has been assembled ok your problem could be a tight piston seal because it is new .
  4. how do you prevent shooting the gun with out a pellet if you dont know or dont observe your mag is empty . i would think a dry fire is a problem with this type of gun .I often shoot air out of my pcp s just when I needed there to be a pellet in the gun .
  5. I suspect many have tried to get there thinking I will get there in the end .BUT a stealth is like hard drugs kids just say no .
  6. I used a softer o ring than standard, the one seals the valve assembly in the bottle .that just when one day after filling the gun .one day you may see sense and get an get a AAs400 thats what i did , a real gun in the same price range as a space age looking ray gun STEALTH thing.
  7. yes the valve in the bottle .if the bottle is empty you can push the valve in and out with little effort smoothly.I bent my valve a little once it is eazy to do i dropped the bottle .I was able to straighten it again lucky . After a lot of messing I got my stealth shooting well but all the effort and time ,buying taps, dies, o rings ,different materials, time spent making bits ,cost of pellets testing .the only thing I found good about a stealth was it gave me an understanding of pcps . It will be nice to see how you get on over time .
  8. cars kill more people each year than guns they drove of in a car .
  9. what ever you get ,get mildot or similar
  10. I would say the main thing for inconsistancey on mine was the hammer .it rattles down that aluminum tube .I made a hammer that rode on the barrel the inside that touched the barrel was plastic with a brass outer part to give it some weight .I made different hammers but settled for the same weight as standard also I polished the barrel that the hammer rode on .check your valve is not bent or sticking if it is sticking a little metal polish and twisting may loosen but you get some air leak out of the valve when shooting the gun if you do to much you will get more .IF YOU HAVE TO DO THIS ALL THE
  11. I use both 177 and 22 ,at 12 ft lbs 177 is what I prefer . lots of people seem to migrate to 177 once they have tried them .the pellets are cheaper also in 177 .
  12. try a lighter softer pellet .that pellet looks like it grips your rifling the lead may hard slowing down your pellet loosing power .falcon accuracy plus pellets may help soft and light .
  13. I tried to join a few times over the years .no luck .Is this site and advert for bsa and are the contributors hoax has any one got on the site .
  14. 177 hw 100 i have this gun in carbine very good .
  15. if you want to swap fx 2000 for a gunpower stealth you are making a mistake .If it is some other stealth gun then I dont know . fx are a well made gun gunpower are not.
  16. I use both guns pcp and spring .both guns have good points and bad points ,you being 14 I would say a good gun for you would be a good quality spring gun when out shooting rabbits .pcp guns are a little bit more delicate than spring guns and often have a power curve to deal with .spring guns are basic to use and will take a bit of abuse out in the field . I would have no worries going out shooting rabbits with a spring powered gun I sometime prefer a spring powered gun .
  17. the spring may be to powerful as well as being square wire that may cause friction .try the gun with no washers or no top hat see what happens .I have had power drop because of to much spring . ...but the spring does look like some coils may have been removed .
  18. A tight spring guide has to be the biggest thing for silencing a spring gun a bit .I have a lightning after the spring broke I used a gas ram that failed then I fitted a tight spring guide , fitted to a new spring with a plastic washer and a steel top hat .Both these made the gun better the ram and the spring .The spring may be a little better than the ram .I have a tx 200 with no moderator the gun is not to loud because the gun is made well .A well tuned hw80 with any moderator would work well but at night even a silenced pcp spooks rabbits .
  19. type qb 78 trigger into google .you can see the trigger maybe needs oil or a sping has popped of or broken .Or the hammer may not be able to comeback far enough to engage the sear properly for some reason.
  20. I did realize you wanted to shoot boars and dear .I would think no spring powered gun would be suitable .Some very powerful diana s but not that powerful I would think for a clean kill .
  21. aa field pellets may make your power reading higher .To lessen the power by 1/2 a ft lb or so should be an easy thing to do . .
  22. any gun that is accurate and shooting at 11,5 ft lbs .some cheap guns can be accurate some pricey guns can be inaccurate ,but a good quality guns that most people use would be a good starting point .
  23. a good spring gun .second hand you could get good one cheap, off of some idiot UP GRADING to a pcp. Spring guns are great no messing pumping and filling ,power curve ,leaking o rings , ect .Spring guns tend to work always .A spring gun can be abused a lot more . The only thing wrong with a spring gun over a pcp is a good spring gun will be a little heavy and a little noisier .If I had to live on a desert island with one gun only I would get a 97k 177 basic , reliable and accurate .I have pcp ssp co2 and spring guns 22 and 177 .
  24. I like them.the skirt gets damaged easy so you have to take care .If the skirt gets dented you can straighten them with something .I have used the rounded end of a pen .You loose a little power using falcon accuracy out of a hw 100 but not to much .I use them in 177 and 22 out of a pcp very good results but check the skirts when you use them .dont shake the tin to much.
