  1. home made night vision is very good . a 16mm board lens screwed into a cheap security camera .the 16mm lens replaces the standard wide angle lens .a cheap small monitor .a 12 volt rechargeable battery .a good IR light that will reach out to 90 yards ,this was the most costly thing for me some years back .and some cables to join it all together .this stuff makes a great night sight for less the a 100 quid and the picture is better than a sight costing 1000s .not good on a springer .that yukon proton looks very good it looks like it can be used day and night .
  2. the media started talk about licensing backing there government being all neutral and that .I have gotten to the point in life I have notice these stories come out at the right time , so ether this stuff goes on all the time it just get reported more at different times, people hear the news and do a copy cat .The stories are cause by agent provocateurs or the campaigners are always very very lucky to get a perfect story at the exact right time very very often.
  3. I think we all started out with the pocket full pellets and the 400 + marksman pellets rattling around in the tin in another pocket ,but we have moved on since then .We want accuracy and to help we feel if the pellets are in perfect condition when entering our guns we may have a better chance of hitting something .Dont knock it till you tried it
  4. I like how this air gun control started after a drug addict took pot shots at his drug dealers sons with an over powered air gun [ a firearm something you need a licence for then , today and in the future ] . Bonini was charged with murder ,I dont care that he was but I thought you have to intend to kill some one by your actions to be charged with murder . I would suggest Bonini meant to hurt his victims , some people get charged with manslaughter only after public complaints [ Ian Tomlinson ] .The fact that it is now known if you shoot people for fun you will get locked up for a long time ,
  5. light pellet in a spring gun will give the most power usually and a heavy pellet can have a lot of power loss .A pcp will get the most power from a heavy pellet usually with a little power loss from a light pellet in my experience .I like a light pellet even in a pcp the tiny power loss I dont care about about ,a light 177 will take a rabbit out at 60 yards with ease if you hit it right .So with the fast pellet it is easy to hit the target when estimating range with a slow heavy 22 your range estimation has to be bang on ,so even if the heavy 22 hits with an extra 1/2 ft lbs or so it is pointl
  6. mosquito express... no longer available but jsb exact express are the same [maybe] that is what I will try when my stash of mosquito express run out.
  7. if your gun is still new the piston seal may still be tight fit. did you use light pellets with chrono
  8. A tight spring guide ,with a little bit of grease on spring ,so the gun dosent diesel .The sleeving option is a bit low tek ,my opinion only ,it does stop twang but so does a tight spring guide .
  9. also forgot like above but with a pcp .I got some pipe insulation foam tube stuff.a few inches of it will clip round your scope like it clips round pipe .you drill holes into the foam the right size to grip your pellets .then clip the pellet filled foam around your scope .
  10. air powered weapon is part of the mind control .political correctness ,control of words ,its is not pedantic .When people hear air WEAPON they think dead children BAN . When they hear air gun they think , club ,shooting ,fishing ,kids having fun .the control of peoples minds is done by words you are defending the SNP deliberate use of the word weapon by calling me pedantic . 1984 2+2=5
  11. I use an old screw lid 177 air gun pellet tin .the inside padded with foam from an AA 22 pellet tin .I put 50 pellets in the foam lined tin and another piece of foam on top then screw the lid on .I take a few pellets out at a time and put in pocket ready to shoot .
  12. chop a mount down or you can get something ready made to put in the hole .I hate messing about with scope creep I always use something to stop or make sure theres no creep .you can try your scope and see if its fine without or maybe spend time and money on pellets to fine out its not .
  13. I see your on board with the hype.....an air gun is not an AIR POWERED WEAPON . A weapon is something you would use to harm another person I would think there are no licences for such a device .
  14. Also you may not be allowing for power curve .The gun at 190 bar ,150 bar ,110 bar when shot will have a different points of impact also .You may know about this, just checking .
  15. 97 k 177 its all you need . I have different guns pcp spring 177 22. The 97 k 177 is the best all round gun I have .You get to LOVE the weight of it ,I try to sit on the ground or use a post or tree or such when taking a shot at longer ranges .The weight stops the gun bouncing about when shooting .As i understand a hw is suites power levels greater than 12 ft lbs so a hw 95 is better than a hw at 12 ft lbs , but I have shot a hw a little and a hw 95 never so I dont know ,but I do know MY 97k is great .
  16. I had a webley premier. 22 .i have a diana lp8 177 .I have shot a hw 45 .22 years ago and a hw 45 is by far the better gun .All so owned a crossman pump up pistol nice powerfull accurate but to loooooooooong and LOUD to load .
  17. If the gun is still very new and unused looking I would guess you have one of three problems ...1..the gun may have been shot with a lot of oil in the gun DIESELING may have destroyed the main piston seal ...2 the MAIN SPRING my have snapped ..3 .. the breach seal may have a problem . 3..and 2 are easy to fix ..1 is a little bit more of a problem ..there may be a different problem these would be my first choices .
  18. it may be your scope or the fact you dont look in your scope the same way each time .I often to check if the problem is my scope or gun by cutting a 12mm round hole in a piece of paper and getting the hole in the center of 50mm circle .line the 50mm circle with your 50mm lense on your scope .so your 50mm lense is now 12mm with this your groups may improve .If they do then the problem is you dont look through the scope the same each time .
  19. there are some range finders that can be read at night . I have never used one , but I would think that is worth thinking about , I would if I was getting a new range finder .I have a HAWKE OPTICS Endurance LFR 600 it seems to work ok ,but the cover that holds the battery in is very loose and I have to use a piece of electric tape to lock the cover so I dont loose it .
  20. I solved that problem of loose screws by ..just tightening up screws with shake proof washers .I keep making sure the screws are tight ,NOT TO TIGHT then in time the screws bed down they can still loosen but on springers I always check the stock screws . letting your gun float about in the stock may cause your screws to get damaged .tighten up the screws but hold the gun loosely when shooting it .
  21. My own experience with a bsa lightning and fitting a gas ram was it did not last to long .When I asked in an air gun shop in wembley ,west london about gas rams they said... dont bother .We dont have any thing to do with the gas rams that you fit in to lightnings any more because they fail to often and they are to much trouble .6 mouths you will get trouble they said... ...I thought they are just giving me rubbish so I got and fitted a gas ram from theoben 6 mouths later power drop of 1 ft lbs and oil leaking out of the ram unit ....THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE ONLY .... the gas ram did shoot great f
  22. silicon grease for o rings ,100% NOT FOR metal to metal contact .
  23. I have had a brocock .I have had a bsa .I have not had or used any of the guns you have mentioned but my experience with both makes left me with brand loyalty for brocock only .
