  1. What a load of rubbish , As long as you know your set up ie gun , pellet ,scope and most important what you can do , all 4 cals will do the same so you dont have any 177 then
  2. my thought is in the days when guns had only v sights [the scopes that did exist were rubbish] ,a top gun was a bsa airsporter ,webley mark 3 ect these guns shot at 10 ft lbs in 22 .9 ft lbs in 177 .max range with v sights 25 yards .In this situation a 22 is the best caliber to use . Now with both calibers shooting at 11.5 ft lbs, pcps ,excellent scopes and pellets .177 leaves 22 lumbering behind .
  3. or a smooth plain boring ambidextrous stock like the 97k .They may steal some 97k fans also .
  4. it is possible to reseat the valve with very fine metal polish .I have done it . There is or was information on the net on how to do this .It was possible on my stealth to remove my valve by unscrewing the brass part that the valve stem goes through .Keeping the valve settings undisturbed ,the valve ,valve stem, top hat and that brass piece with its oring can be removed complete .If you have a problem getting parts you may be able to repair the valve the same way you reseat engine valves using solvol autosol NOT VALVE PASTE ..OR A DRILL . dont use to much solvol dont let it go down stem to muc
  5. Its not 22 or 177 for me its 550 ft per sec or 820 ft per sec whats better .If a big heavy slow pellet was the way to go .25 would be king .I would like to see a smaller caliber than 177 so 850 ft per sec was easy to achieve and the pellet would have a very good B.C long range accuracy would be fantastic with a gun well under 12 ft lbs .
  6. I prefer the smooth stock . my gun is a few years old I didnt know they still made smooth stocks .When you shoot a spring gun and hold it loosely you want as little grip as possible I feel, so the guns recoil motion is not different because of friction . other people will disagree I am sure .also I like a sports stock on a spring gun.
  7. when you mess with the magnification it may move your point of impact .if you have zeroed at 35 yards and you change your magnification from say 9x to 4x the point of impact should stay the same but it may change a bit .
  8. how bent is bent .you may have just move that barrel clamp thing , at the end of the air cylinder that is held by a few allen screws. just loosen the allen screws and adjust the clamp so as the barrel is straight or if the barrel is bent a little you may be able to as an emergence fix stop gap that may be ok .use the clap the force the barrel to appear straight and tighten it in that position .your gun may still shoot fine when a pellet leaves a bent barrel it still flies straight .
  9. I have a webley omega it looks like the same trigger as on the patriot for that reason I wound not get one .The trigger on my omega is poor I have fixed it for now but I expect it to fail again .It is hard to explain but because the piston is undersized to fit into the cylinder it is a bit to undersized and the trigger doesnt engage .I have corrected the problem by putting some buttons on the piston these give the effect of making the piston seem bigger by holding the piston centeraly in the cylinder.
  10. If the problem is to much air pressure the only way I can think you release some air would be increase the power of your hammer spring this may make your gun to powerful as the air cylinder empties . There may be a way of taking the gun apart and opening the valve a little to release some air ,with some sort of press of some kind that will hold the valve open in a similar way as the hammer does when it hits the valve stem , you cannot open the air cylinder when it is full of air . there is a fx owners site, someone may know how to solve you problem . ...... If you filled the gun an it then
  11. you might have to much air pressure in the gun .The hammer may not be opening the valve .or the gun may be adjusted so as to allow a large amount of low pressure air into the barrel and opening the valve with a weak hammer spring so the gun stays below 12 ft lbs , so when you fill the gun to the standard 200 bar the weak hammer spring cannot open the valve . ...has the gun developed a leak and no air in the gun .....does the gun cock and hold the hammer back so when you pull the trigger the hammer bashes into something........after you filled the gun did it shoot .
  12. I had a look at one years ago .I never took the gun to pieces but looking at the gun still in tacked it to me looked like one or two pieces of the trigger mechanism had snapped .The owner of the gun used to put plenty of oil in the cylinder when using the gun , so I guess the piston smashing into the trigger mechanism often may have damaged the gun . chambers may have parts but it will cost a lot.
  13. this is what we who shoot the lady caliber think also .
  14. tx 200 or 97k the 97k has my vote but the tx is not rubbish .the tx s fancy stock and bear trap ???? but the tx is maybe a little better made .So that is why I have both .
  15. multi shot can have its problem .an empty mag just when you dont want an empty mag .some times with the hw 100 I forget to engage the mag ,so after the first shot the next shot is air only.shooting at a great distance with ease and silently is a big plus .
  16. I use both pcp and spring .dont care which .if I cannot make a noise pcp my first choice but nothing wrong with spring .
  17. I have not used one of these cameras but cameras are pretty much the same .If he can over come the problems, he will have it may work, he has already bought it .The camera can see in the dark with IR the wide angle lens will not work with a scope .As is I dont think it will work but it could work as with the cheap security camera I used the lense has to change ..
  18. As far as my limited experience .I have made a night vision that works fine .the problems you will have are the lense will be wrong to wide angle .it has to be 16mm board lense what ever that is or close to this ,if the lense can be changed that is ok .the leds will shine on the lense of the scope you will have to cover or ???disconnect??? them (i just covered mine) .you will need a powerful IR light with a tight beam .
  19. If the seal was gone would the air come out that hole in the side of the gaugeTa. I cannot see how a seal could be gone .I would think the gauge is a no servicable item .look up how pressure gauges are made y tube.
  20. I would think you need a new one .Inside its just a curly tube that fills with air the more air the straighter it gets ,a bit like a party whistle .The clocks hand is connected to the tube as it straightens the hand moves .the curly tube must be cracked or have a hole .
  21. I feel sorry for your neighbour he is like a lot of brainwashed people to day ,he knows the important thinks like the size of ROONEYS bell end and the colour of his laces but nothing else . Its the new way brainwashed morons .
  22. I would not bother you gun is shooting fine less to go wrong with no regulator .if you fit a regulator you have to drill a hole in the air cylinder ( permanent) .you will have to adjust the power settings to get them right (time and money with pellets )your gun will shoot differently using a constant supply of lower pressure air instead of a quick blast of higher pressure air (if you like your gun it will be changed ).I would get a regulated gun like a hw 100 and keep your gun as it is .With the time ,effort (not to mention you may not like the results) you are half or a third of the way to ge
  23. ?? maybe some is thinking if you or someone is passing but someone eles might be thinking 240 mile round trip in a canyonero
  24. I have found the gun in question less than a 100 quid new ....My friend with his gamo will spend stupid money on a car that sucks up petrol ,a stupid amount on a wrist watch but wont spend or spend very little on a gun and sight thank god he well get quality pellets his gun a cfx gamo and some cheap 4x9 scope when the mag goes above 5x you start to get blurry rainbow effect , at 9x you are shooting for a pot of gold the scope does hold its zero and at 4x it is ok to use but 2000 + quid for a watch .is your mate like this or just broke.
