  1. I am wondering why you want a new bolt plat .If your bolt is loose when you lock it ,you can adjust your bolt to tighten up when you lock it shut .There is an adjustment screw in the center of the bolt there is also a locking screw for this adjustment screw .....not on older models you adjust with shims ????? not to sure about this.
  2. you may be able to bog one of the rams to fit your gun , but they seem very gun and caliber specific . I had one in a bsa lightning it did shoot better than standard for a short time then it failed .I was told this would happen by someone with a lot or experience, suggesting the 6 month guarantee was a clue .I have since replaced the ram in the lighting with a good quality spring and spring guide .the gun now shoots better than the ram at its best .If you want a gas ram gun get a hw 90 or an old theoben .The ram cr.p became a bit of an obsession for me for a time dont believe the hype .
  3. a short barrel for rapid and or a smaller air bottle
  4. Yes but what is better to damage an o ring (10p) or a valve? I see you think like me ,I also have another problem when my bottle comes of my gun the valve sometimes leaks when pumped up its ok .So unscrewing the bottle a little and shooting untill there is no pressure can take a long time .This is a failing in the theoben gun design .
  5. my rapid has a slow slow leak .I suspect it could be from doing as you have mentioned .I have not taken the gun apart to look but looking at various pictures of damaged valve bodies over the years on rapids ,I feel the method of taking of the bottle as you have described could lead to the damaging of the valve body .When you keep shooting the gun with little air pressure, the hammer smashes into the valve body the only thing holding that is a grub screw that rips through the valve .So I go for the unscrew and let the air leak out and risk blowing up the o ring .I COULD BE WRONG.
  6. i find them good to excellent in most guns I have tried .
  7. a domed head .. air arms or jsb would be a good start .
  8. it could only be the in side of the hole the probe goes into has become scratched or worn ??? of most likely your o rings are damaged , o rings can look fine but leak air .You could try a little silicone grease on the o rings that sometimes can help .
  9. does the air leak out of the prob hole or the air wont go in the gun .
  10. can you load the trigger mechanism not in the gun .If i remember they can be cocked out side of the gun .could your spring be to long and have to many coils
  11. I would get what you want you only live once . I would not get a 20 or 22 if I was buying a new gun , I have lots or 22 guns one a parker hale dragon in 22 thats shoots at 10.5 ft lbs very accurate very good gun ,in 177 impossible to get and less power 9 ft lbs .That was the only choice I feel to get 22 . If there was a 22 or 20 cal 95 near me cheap I would get it ,but if I was buying new I would get what I want . a gun I would like is a park 93 air rifle in any cal but if I had a choice I would go 177 .I must say I would like a 20 cal gun and a .25 just to see what they are like , but I am in
  12. I would think it is not possible ,not with the night vision I have .You have to focus the night vision at a specific distance .So you will only be able to focus on the rear sight or the bead or the target ..I dont know how very good quality and expensive night vision are they may have a large depth or field and the use of open sights maybe possible but I would think not . adding a laser sight to a gun makes the gun very good for shooting rats and close rabbits .So you could clamp a laser under the barrel and wear night vision .I have done this shooting rats it is very good you can walk around
  13. if its 12 ft lbs... jsb exact express would be my first pellet to test . or any jsb pellet ..air arms field or falcon accuracy plus also made by jsb .
  14. I have a 97k and a tx 200 mk 2 .I like the plain finish of the 97k and its ease of operation .I like the long reach of the trigger .I dont like the fact it cannot decock the rifle [ with out adjustment ].The tx I dont like the fancy stock and the trigger .It does shoot smoothly and can be decocked . These are both nice guns and the difference is minimal but the 97k has the edge for me. My tx mark 2 has the smaller air cylinder and is supposed to be the better tx .The 77 has a long barrel and no moderator . A short barrel is better on a spring gun . I would still like a hw 77
  15. DONT GO RIPPING YOUR GUN APART .i wonder if your gun has a problem .have you tried the pump on another gun .also the pumps gauge may be funked if you keep pumping dose the gauge on the gun go up ....had an other thought your hose may be faulty .
  16. same here hw 100 . similar to mosquito express same weight and shape but there is more lead round the skirt and less in the head .these pellets seem better than mosquito express I still have a few tins of them to compare with ..
  17. I must say I have had a rething a licence would be a GREAT idea if its acquisition had an IQ component sadly lacking at present I feel .
  18. mine never move ,or a little some times if I bash the gun on something .If you have a new gun and scope it may have to settle down a bit .If you are learning to shoot the problem may be you .there could be a lot of problems are your mounts tight ..not to tight..and your scope is not moving .If your gun is correct and shooting well you have good pellets then something inside your scope could be loose .Your gun could be loose in the stock .There will be more things as a possible problem ..
  19. I would avoid these gas rams .I would dabble with with a theoben or hw 90 these are serviceable .I used a gas rammed lightning for a SHORT time before it leaked and lost power .The gun did shoot well with ram but leaving the gun cocked and loaded for long periods of time I feel this was the reason for the failure of the ram .If the ram cannot be left loaded there is not much point having it ..it is a pitty the gun did shoot well with the ram .BUT A WELL TUNED SPRINGER SHOOTS BETTER I have never shot a rammed theoben or a hw 90 .I may get a hw 90 one day to find out .
  20. Do you mean no one should have a shotgun licence? If you have an imaginary population of 300 people 100 mentally ill ,100 criminals and 100 neither ill or criminals all with shotguns .At the end of each year there are 3 murders 1 by a mental 1 by a criminal and 1 by a person neither ill nor criminal .Oh my god these crimes must stop gun control is needed ,so mentally ill and criminals can no longer have guns ..now thank god there is just 1 gun murder a year, gun control works .the 1 murder a year is committed by the right sort of person .So to prevent the 1 murder a year the right sort of pe
  21. Maplins electrical shops thats where I got mine or some electrical component shop ,may be plumber shops??I think they may use it to lube o rings
