barrywhite replied to VWman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
its all about disarming the sheep world wide , so it will be safe for criminals . Its a UN thing , here in the UK we must be due for another purge . No big event as yet to prompt our ecceptance of more clamping down but I guess something will turn up . -

Beginners Or Professional Always Go Pcp
barrywhite replied to downsview's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I have 4 spring guns no scope creep just used good mounts correctly . aa tx 200, 97 k and a webley omega all eazy to shoot accurately . a bsa lightning shoots accurately but a bit of practice is required with this gun as it has a lot of kick and the trigger is heavy .I have pcps also but sometimes all the pumps, bottles, different connectors and maintenance, leaking o rings , gauges sticking , having to keep every thing spotless so as not contaminate the air cylinder with dirt out in the field ect can be a bit of a drag .Sometimes the grab the gun ,a gun bag and a tin of pellets aspect of a s -
you will get away with a not so good scope low magnification , bit blurry picture ect as long as it holds zero.but you will need good mounts on a spring gun for sure . you will save money on pellets constantly checking and adjusting your scope and missing what you aim at .

a friend has a cfx gamo a similar gun to the polaris its is a good gun despite it being a gamo . if the polaris is in good condition it should be a good gun but like the gamo it is a cheap design under lever , but still acurate and powerful .

I like the unregulated verminator that is why I shoot the gun from about 150 bar down to 120 bar ,about, top of the power curve .The lock time is quick on the vermiator the hammer hits quicker and harder to open the valve to let a quick blast of 150 to 120 bar pressure into the barrel to shoot the pellet . the hw is regulated to 90 bar so a slower hammer hits softer to open a valve longer to let enough air into the barrel to shoot the pellet . I think the only way to regulate a verminator with ease would be to put a regulator between the gun and the bottle but i dont think any one does that .

mine verminator is 177 so is my hw 100 . Reading on the net a lot people dont take there bottle of of there vermintor . If I am going some where with my vermiator in the case .I will pump the gun up to 165 bar then disconnect the bottle when I reattach the bottle the gun reads 155 bar it loses 10 bar of pressure in the process then I am good to go .If you want a lot of shots and you are shooting close and a bit of power drop is not a problem you can fill the verminator right up with air loads of shots .I got mine second hand I have read the mark 2 are not as good ..who knows.. I like my vermi

there is a quick fill . just taking the bottle of and on the gun has to be done with care . a cross thread could occur . There is a problem with this gun I have fixed very easy that is .The little bolt leaver thing that goes through the center of the mag can be pulled out easy by accident while handling the gun especially in the dark .If this leaver bolt thing is pulled out of the mag when you go to load the next pellet the little mag flies of somewhere . So I clip an elastic band round the little bolt round a scope mount and back on the bolt never had a problem since .you can double load the

I have an old mark 1 verminator and a hw 100 . I shoot the vermintor from about 150 + down to 120+ bar dont check it that close . so the guns are quite comparable shot count wise when shooting the hw 200 bar down to 90 bar .I like the verminator very much I have a plain low powered scope on the vermiator and a high powered mildot type scope on the hw 100 so the hw is better at longer shots but i have taken a lot of long shots with the verminator .If the verminator had a better scope it may be a better gun than the hw .I like my verminator mark 1 it has no power adjuster like the newer ones

I think its a CFX royal with the stock repaired after it broke in the pistol grip some how . maybe with the under leaver smashing into the barrel . this also damaging the standard latch for the leaver it being replaced by maybe somthing from the norica range of guns ?? .then while someone was at it they changed the standard stock shape by removing wood near the trigger and adding the rather attractive groves that have thrown us all . this may also explain the upward shooting barrel look in the photo .
-
I dont think that gun is a relum .the picture is bad the gun looks a bit gamoesk .does it have a rotary breech if so I cant be a relum . it could have some connection with gamo or bsa . I saw a chinese gun or a make called karl i think , thats under leaver catch and muzzel looked like the photo .

put the add up earlier for 177 on gunstar but it is FAC so edited it out . good price i thought thats why

if you are using a torch this way especially if the torch is a little heavy . you may get some problems shooting with a torch if you are using a spring gun .your point of impact may change when you put the torch on and of the gun . also the scope and mounts on a spring gun are sometimes pushed to there limits with the recoil action of a spring gun adding a torch may push things to far .

you can work it out .crossing one road right at the end 20 yards. 4 or 5 rooms to your right 4 yards for each room . 25 yards for the buildings + 20 yards for the road . it could be correct

Opinions On The Hawke Airmax 30 Sf
barrywhite replied to Robbo1234's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I would get a standard mil dot scope . I have a few hawke this and that I think they just make this and that reticle to keep you buying scopes . A standard mil dot scope works fine and the information on how to use it is every where you dont have to use HAWKE BRC or what ever it is called today . to be fair my map 6 and sr 12 work but if I was upgrading I would get a quality scope with a mil dot ( or half mil ). -
I have lots of different scopes but for hunting I feel the best scope I have used is a hawke endurance 3x9 40 mil dot . I dont think the make of scope important . the scope has no AO , or illuminated reticle ect , it is a very basic and the weight is quite low .The scope has plenty of magnification the mil dots are very handy . carrying the gun about all day the scope is very smooth it dosent catch on thing or collecting rain and dirt . also some big scopes make guns feel a bit top heavy especially on spring guns . so a 3x9 40 miil dot on my 97k is a very good combination .

177 is the best cal at 12 ft lbs as far as i am concerned . Its kills thing dead no problems. the pellets in 177 cost less. and i like the speed 177 has the game has no time to move .

sometimes my shooting gets messed up , after shooting a pcp for a while then changing to a spring gun or vice versa you have to hold the spring gun loose and hold the pcp firm when shooting ,well I done .I feel the spring gun is a bit like a gyroscope for a split second when you pull the trigger and a pcp is like a gyroscope that is not spinning so you have to hold the gun . I forget this when changing from one gun to the other .

have you tried moving your 16mm lens in and out a bit from the camera body also .so as to change the cameras focal point .

this idea . the vid is a little informative . it dose not show the complete process

the hole can be repaired not sure how is the best way .thinking quickly maybe the hole can be drilled out more then threaded and a plug put back in with the correct size air hole .I have just got my old hw 35 back of my younger brothers I dont think the hw 35 is a very good gun I would not spend much trying to fix one .
