  1. has anyone got any pics of brindle patterdales, i have heard they do exist but i have never seen one and if they are brindle where does this come from?.
  2. Hi guys, I'm looking for a terrier to work cover, does anybody have any litters down or dogs for sale? I'm not fussed about the breed or age but I want it to either be working stock or from working stock, I thought I'd ask on here before look on preloved etc... Atb
  3. Have you tried a harness? maybe along with some tit bit treats, the harness may just help you control her bouncing around and treats obviously as reward, not saying it will fix your problem but it may help mate Atb
  4. I'll have to do some research then as it stretches from walsden to hebdon bridge and littlebrough to almost Oldham. I know parts are farmed and grazing but a lot just seems wild.
  5. Ok so basically I live near todmorden west yorks. My local walks in all directions will eventually bring me to moorland, you know the type all you can see for miles is open space dotted with wild heather. Now these places are covered in bunnies but.... Where do I stand from a legal point of view to work my dogs on it, as far as I am aware it's not national trust and not all of it is private grazing. Any advise will be brilliant. Cheers guy.
  6. I've a collie whippet but she is half x. I know folk with ones with just a 1/4 collie though
  7. Probably daft to ask as people aren't about to give away their dogs but..... Anyone know areas round todmorden/ walsden that's good for bunnies? Cheers.
  8. Ok so I have a 2 yr old collie whippet that I got a couple of weeks ago but I think I prefer my dogs to run in pairs, so today I couldn't miss a chance on a saluki bull grey. Dad was pure bull and mum first x saluki grey, just thought I'd post a pic of her. She is six months but keen as mustard!
  9. Its like she already knows she is better off lol, she is like my shadow. She is also now on a good high protein dry mix which she seems very happy with, gonna have her to the vets though as she seems quite lame on her right front leg. I have checked her over and i think it may be her shoulder. Its not a constant thing just something i notice when walking her.
  10. Yeah she is a cracking dog just a bit skittish. She was practically thrown at me
  11. So anyway. I yesterday took a collie whippet grey bitch from a lad in blackburn. He has had her as a pet for a bit feeding her once a day on bounce of all f king things. She is from working stock you can clearly tell from her nature when out walking. He said yeah mate gotta get rid of her cos i ant got time to walk her or feed her. Ok i get that! But why is it always lurchers that i go look at from people who are not lurcher workers and 9 times out of 10 they are skittish and hand shy and clearly under weight. Sorry for the rant it just angers me.
  12. Sorry, ill update you all in due coarse. Atb
  13. Can i just say thanks to you all for you generous offers of help, it makes me chuckle cos dog lads get such bad names from narrow minded folk whom actually dont give half a toss about their dogs and have no knowledge of the skill knowledge dedication and time put in by the serious hunter. Any who i spoke to a guy local who was walking 3 dogs all collie whippet greys who has a pup he got for his son but his son aint taken to him. He is ringing me tomorrow to see the pup so will up date y

  15. Well yeah he may well be init for the cash but what can i do, he may well just sell it on i dunno! It pi$$es me off noone considers the dogs its all about the royalty
  16. He had 1 other that seemed fine, he tells me he is offering him as a deaf dog to a good family home.
  17. Id say depends what your runnin dont really need a bull for bunnies but then again collie x are good alrounders in the right hands that ive seen, im after a collie x myself after only really having bulls and 3 yrs out, i want a change. If its advise your after though, ive had it sound on here from very experienced people. Atb
  18. I have returned him, breeder was genuinly sorry and taking him and 1 other to the vet for full check.
  19. If you refer to the deaf pup thread i recently put on, basically got pup,no good, looking for another to bring on. Im near halifax cant really travel more than an hour.

  22. I had a cracking 58 38 bitch she took everything jumped and ran all night knew a 27 inch dog jabba that was single handed and ran all night long he was 58 38 too.
  23. I have agreed with the breeder to return him, to be fair to the guy i think he genuinly didnt know. Im gutted as i now have to start looking again but i cant do anything but agree with everyones comments and advise, i wanted a working dog which he wont be. I have two very young daughters who could startle him with bad results. A hard decision but i dont have the time to offer him the training he will actually need and i dont have routine myself so cant possibly apply one to his life. Thanks everyone for your very helpful advise i think it has been valuable to my decision making. As previously
