    yeah mel and lisa are great people. hearts of gold. all my dogs are registered with a vet, i have during this event changed vets to a farm vet who deal with working dogs and tried everything to help save the pup, i really cannot fault the service i received from them, my previous vet was not prepared to even try, hence the change. i dont care about the costs of vets fees a healthy dog is a happy dog and for a dog to work for me i have to put time, money, love and care in. Dont get me wrong im still gutted about the pup. we berried him under our apple tree facing the house yesterday unfortun

    i think its as people said, things happen for a reason. but when you watch a pup die when you fought to save it, it takes it out of you especially when the breeder dont give a monkeys too, but as this site has shown there are some good folk out there and its not just the new pup gift its the support of the guys on ere mate.

    A lot of young lads have lurchers,keep them in good nick,train and work them in the field,thats how most of us started,young with little experience,willing to learn and be shown the ropes.Some are scrotes,some will end up decent lads that will carry the game to the next generation.Its harder for the youngsters to gain trust and permission,usually because of the actions of other youngsters,but often the older generation that also have little respect for anything.Until permission is forthcoming these lads will find work for the mutts,some with the right attitude,most not,its always been the same

    im certain they aint scared of teeth. the sire is a mean looking fkr and the dam was a cracking girl too. im happy ill get the results im wanting from her and will no doubt be back to you for a second pup in due time.

    Lol now you tell me. There is a quarry by me that's whip with rabbits but can't be dug or run so it need either a gun or TNT lol.

    I'm interested in taking up shooting only .22 rifle just in areas local I know rabbits are but I can't run my dogs on. What would be considered a good gun for a beginner? I have been shooting before using a super 10 I borrowed from a friend but other than that I'm not too clued up, also I'm not looking to spend tons on gun,scopes etc. Atb.

    I had a ride out earlier. Not with dogs but to the shops and lost count of how many lurchers I saw with young lads and the majority looked bully. My wife also noticed a farm just outside burnley with a trailer in the field saying any dogs in the field will be shot! In big white letters. Can't these numb nuts see they are helping kill an already dying sport. In my experience if your right with the farmer 9 times out of 10 he is right with you. Is it worth loosing a dog, is it good to look over your shoulder all the time. And would these people who are effectively poaching not hunting, leave a d

    I have just picked up my gorgeous little pup off mel and Lisa and on our way home, my little girl is at behind me fast asleep oblivious lol. Just wanna say Mel and Lisa are very generous genuine people with huge hearts, thankyou very very much I will certainly be staying intouch!

    My wife has had a response from the breeder offering a pic of litter in 9 weeks, she has told him we are not interested and he has told her there is nothing more he can do. We have been stung big time! We had every faith in the pup being healthy being that it came from a working home, but infact ended up spending more than half the cost of the dog on medication just to watch it die... my wife is refusing to speak to me as i wont call the breeder but......what is the point this guy is clearly out for the financial gain and not the dogs or new owners welfare. i am disgusted and ashamed to say

    I don't really know him I just know he is called grant and is from Hyde, Manchester. I'm not out to cause problems we just thought he would at least offer us our money back as he seemed a sound guy. I felt I could trust him as he knows a lot of lads I know in Barnsley.

    i am looking but obviously the loss has made a huge dent in finances so im probably going to wait as i dont want just any old pup, im wanting a pup bred from good working stock that i can bring on in my own way.

    I have already started to look for another pup, just need to persuade the wife as all she has done all morning is frantically clean. her coping mechanism i suppose lol
