  11. I rather go it alone but it is nice to see a friends mutt run now and then
  12. Great post without doubt there are far to many lurchers bred as a cash crop this i just cannot understand because they are worth f ck all, the cost of rearing a litter properly!!! to the return on a pup just not worth it, this is the main reason for today''s sh t i have mates from far and wide who bring their dogs down to show me but all i get is a good laugh and i am starting to think that the most of folks really don't have a clue, i am not saying my dogs are world beaters in any way they do the job i need and earn there keep and to add i have had better dogs than i have at present.
  13. we are based on the oxfordshire bucks boarders the position is still open best to pm me
  14. My take is that a collie cross can be quite testing to train and they need to be kept well occupied so if you cant devote the time leave them alone, however this is not always the case, can brains catch you more rabbits ? i would say yes lets take the dog which chases behind every course v the dog that cut the angle down and can keep a rabbit off the hedge ? i like lamping myself and have owned a few tidy dogs, was it pure luck that made my dogs tidy or could it be that lamping 3 nights a week or more when i was most keen gave them the education they needed!!!! if that's the case i would say
  15. what a cu t just no need for this to happen in this day and age what gets me other people would of seen this dog and did nothing sooner, that would of taken some time to get that way, i hope someone shags him so hard his arse hole falls out.
  16. i try to peace the training together a bit more, i start the retrieve with a ball once mastered i then use a rabbit skin covered ball then a half size rabbit dummy then a full size 1 by letting your pup run in during training i find pups are confident when chasing and striking because its just a progression of the training!!!!!
  17. my father and my uncle were shooting rabbits with the air guns mid afternoon they saw a young calf stuck in the mud of the ditch with a bloke stood behind it, they first thought he was trying to pull it out of the ditch as they got closer the bloke clearly was stuffing the thing lol not long after the same man was found hanging at his home.

  20. This is going to make me sound like the biggest bull shiter out but anyhow i know it’s true, just before the ban i used to drive around our farm if i saw a muntjac i would get close then open the truck door and release the dog, well the dog got quite good at this and yes not very sporting i know i was young!! anyway one morning i open the farm gate by the road and half way up the track stood a little foocker seeing some beer money coming my way i let the mutt go, blue got on terms and made the deer turn 180 now heading down the track at me, thinking i was the deer catcher by hand lol i made th

  22. The 1 thing you can be sure of is that you get what cross you want from hancock, not what some one thinks or tells you it is!!! i would rather risk the cross i want over guess work or lies !!! that said plenty of work is needed to bring them on but worth the effort. in any litter there are good and bad
