The dog would be used to run a boar or coyote down on open ground much the same way you do for fox and rabbits when lamping. It would need to have plenty of speed, stamina, and then strength to hold. However, I don't know if this same strong dog would have the agility to cut and turn with a rabbit. My Australian friend's bullgrey crosses are proven on boar and his greys will run a coyote.
