    He's around 4 months old. My friend hasn't had a chance to bring him down yet as he lives 8-9 hours away and been very busy with work. He's 5/8 greyhound 3/8 deerhound. Thanks for the name suggestions guys! Keep 'em coming!

    Thanks for all the replys everyone! There are some nice looking russells working! So what I'm seeing is that a JRT can make a good working dog but they are fewer and far between than some of your other terrier breeds b/c like many working breeds, they've been bred more for pets than for their original purpose.

    Do they make good workers? Are they better crossed with another breed? Please post pics of your dogs, especially any JRT crosses that are working well. Thanks!

    Thanks for all the welcomes! I'll see if I can get in touch with Dan. Maybe he'll read this and chime in. The dog would be used to run a boar or coyote down on open ground much the same way you do for fox and rabbits when lamping. It would need to have plenty of speed, stamina, and then strength to hold. However, I don't know if this same strong dog would have the agility to cut and turn with a rabbit. My Australian friend's bullgrey crosses are proven on boar and his greys will run a coyote.     Thank you waidmann! He has only tried his bullgrey cross on boar so far. They do very well! I just wonder how well they could be switched over from game to game. Any pictures of your dog? I thought of another question as I was reading. It seems that most prefer multiple breed crosses over a first cross. Is this true? If so, why? Hope I'm not asking too many questions!

    I've been learning a little about lurchers from a good Australian friend. He sent me to this board to read more. I've spent a lot of time just looking at pictures and reading. I've seen a lot of very nice dogs and read some very good information on running dogs. I have not found much about lurchers in the US but have found that the UK has a wealth of lurcher knowledge. I was hoping that I could hear some opinions from some of you. Hope you don't mind! 1. Can a pair of lurchers be used to run several different game such as wild boar, coyote, fox, and rabbit? 2. Which first crosses would yo
