  7. yep, unfortunely still goes on by some ferreters, my grandad used to do it when he was a lad, but it was how it was done then and he was shown by his dad, he and his mates also used to coin them and muzzle and sometimes sticth the mouths closed. luckily most of the old ways are disapearing but theres still the odd few who still continue with these barbaric methods.

  9. its to do with the company who make the jab chemical, they changed there minds on it a couple years ago nearly, saying it has a very short life once opened some vets will stick to old rules and just stick it the fridge and may get you sign a waiver so you agree to it, some just use it as they allsways did and continue to do so and others go by the manufacturers guidelines of binning once opened so charging you for a whole bottle some cases upto 120 quid, if you can get a few jills together and do it mass, cuts the cost. the implant varys som much from ferret to ferret(can be used on hobs in

  24. Yep there is a implant around its been out for a few years now but there really trying to push for it but as stated by happyferret123 it needs replacing every 18 months/2 years i have heard of it wearing off in less still very much a learning curve on it and some ferrets have still got adreanal from having it as well and others which have had adrenal stopped in its tracks from it. I personally dont use it, i go for the fit and forget method of spay and neuter, but i dont breed mine as they generally come from rescues or i take in strays.
  25. well done for picking them up ferret welfare and rescue working at its best, well done you
