  1. Cheers for the photos jigsaw. There are only about 30 in that particular group but there are other groups of similar sizes around areas near by. They too have moved up the mountains in the last few weeks. You get the odd few dumped goats around the area too but they get fairly wild fast.
  2. No fallow yet and they definately dont need them, The sika and reds are doing enough damage as it is. It will also be a disaster for killarney if the muntjac and wild boar make their way down. The red deer in killarney are the most pure and are closely related to the scotish red deer, thought to be because Ireland and britain were one land mass before the Ice age.

  6. they will breed yes ive heard of lads releasing big domestic rabbits in areas of wild rabbits with the idea of bringing up the size of the game and it worked but would have to be repeated every few years.
  7. Its not illegal for animals to escape. I know of irish men on another form whose american wild turkeys, reves pheasants and golden pheasants regularly escape. Its just so hard to keep the feckers in their pens reves do quiet well in the wild by all accounts.

  10. I swim my dogs along a long pier in sea water during the summer and I find it is a great way of keeping dogs fit and in good condition. It keeps up muscle tone and it is a great methodd of rehabilitation for dogs that have picked up knocks and cant put their full weight on their limbs. I reciently had a bull that did its cruciate ligament and lost all the muscle on its back leg and wouldnt put weight on it. Through swimming the dog every day it is almost back 100%.I find the salt water is great for healing cuts and gives the coat a great shine but general fitness and injury rehabilitation is t

  13. Did you let the eggs sit for 24 hours?
  14. what type of chickens were thay ? Just recieved golden pheasant eggs. should you leave them sit for 24 hours before putting them under a broody hen?
  15. Did you put the different types of eggs under the hen at the same time or what or did you do. Im just asking as they have different incubation times...
