  1. Cheers for the photos jigsaw. There are only about 30 in that particular group but there are other groups of similar sizes around areas near by. They too have moved up the mountains in the last few weeks. You get the odd few dumped goats around the area too but they get fairly wild fast.
  2. No fallow yet and they definately dont need them, The sika and reds are doing enough damage as it is. It will also be a disaster for killarney if the muntjac and wild boar make their way down. The red deer in killarney are the most pure and are closely related to the scotish red deer, thought to be because Ireland and britain were one land mass before the Ice age.
  3. It would be easier to spot the absence of a black rabbit
  4. Nice 1. You eating Any of the meat or are they dog food?
  5. No they are pure sika. No fallow in Killarney yet.
  6. they will breed yes ive heard of lads releasing big domestic rabbits in areas of wild rabbits with the idea of bringing up the size of the game and it worked but would have to be repeated every few years.
  7. Its not illegal for animals to escape. I know of irish men on another form whose american wild turkeys, reves pheasants and golden pheasants regularly escape. Its just so hard to keep the feckers in their pens reves do quiet well in the wild by all accounts.
  8. greyhounds are suicidal! and very injury prone! often Thick.
