  8. I personally like the smaller dog because they can fit into tighter places saves time where a normal dog would have to dig on, aslong as the dog has the heart to stick its her quarry and not too afraid to take some stick it should do the job, whether the fox bolts or you have to dig. I think its the same with terriers as lurchers, which would you prefer as a foxing lurcher a big bullx or a whippetx if they could both do the job most of you would say the bullx i just gives piece of mind and the confidence you need to do the job and not worry. I wouldn't let the dog see a fox untill your confide
  9. I used them, at close range they do the same as any other pellet so nothing special about them. At my normal shooting distance 25-30 yards they tend to wander off a bit, and forget shooting with them if thers a slight breeze lol IMO a waste of money, better off buying decent quality pellets u'll find your killing more
  10. Thers an unlimited amount in the woods on my permission, an old oak forrest. you can easly catch double figures with the dogs gun and ferret
  11. The holes are never that big, i know im only 17 but i been doing it since i was a nipper an never lost one. squirrels will use woodpecker holes which arn't that big. They can climb quite well in tight spaces Squirrels arn't as bad as people make out, they do fight back but always bolt. No red squirrels around here. Dont know wether this photo worked
  12. Carn't believe you never done it or heard of it. if the hole is low enough of course, you will either see a squirrel run in or the terrier will mark it, then just put the ferret in an it will bolt out so you can shoot it or if it goes to the ground the dog might accidently catch it
  13. Bolting them out of woodpecker holes in trees or stone walls One i took a photo of

Im in South Wales, It used to be half decent ferreting round here but in the last 5-10 years its gone down hill, so i find myself up country rabbiting. Would be nice to catch a half decent bag in wales
  16. Iv'e been there before, if its that bad im sure the dredded police could sort it out as Bt or who ever can trace the number withheld or not, but then again they'll spend more time finding out what you got in your kennels. Theyre never there when you need them. Just a thought
  17. Tree rabbits, you'd have to see it to believe it
  18. You may have done this already, this is how i do it. Cover the floor with earth, leave it a week or so to settle, so theres no bare cage showing try to minimise ur time around the trap, glance over to check not walk upto it Try different bait, fresh rabbits work best for me Hope it helps
  19. That fox was a big un fairplay Get some photos of the trap tomorrow, made it ourself out of them water carrier cages been catching regular in it recently. Of course it was realeased just what the sheep farmer wanted
  20. mopping up thats even better than a full on days rabbiting ahh well ill be having days in the 30's once day
  21. just wanted to make sure i wouldnt get a load of abuse and all that its a time when you can actually see a fox close up and not worry about it having a go at you just thought it would show you the dog i had a few days ago
  22. I know its not very sporting but now there are lambs about its gotto be done, don't see many photos of peoples catches or would this give us hunters/pest control men and woman a bad name ? or isit just not the done thing ? See plenty of live caught rats, rabbits, birds, but never no fox
