For Sale Infrared 850Nm Zoom Focus Torch
weebster replied to weebster's topic in Optics and Night Vision
Sorry but no......in fact if you're using a sony camcorder then I'd suggest a laser will work best with that kind of set up,cam-c's need lashings of concentrated Ir light imo, hence why they work better with laser's than they do with Ir led's. -

Marky light would suit you better, far better light and cheaper I believe, you can find him on the nightvision forum.

Who is that upgrade made by?.........I doubt it's worth what's being asked, for a few quid more you could buy a 902h! Russ, have a look at the sensor with the lens removed, hold it at a slight angle and see if there is a redish hue to the glass over the filter,it might have a filter. Also check the 800ir is on top power setting, you should get good enough results from a 1/3 ccd cam especially with the 800ir torch. Chances are that board cam has a 1/4 ccd which isn't really upto the job,it might also not be as sensitive to 850nm ir light as some others are.
-
Your probably better off getting the watec 902h then rather than chuck money around on cheap board cams. Unfortunately the price has gone right up on the 902h,last time I looked they were well over the £100 mark.
-
I expect the 10m range refers to the ir leds on the board, which is about right for those kind of ir leds The night master should work very well with it. Although you may suffer blooming (white out) using it with a 902h....in fact you will suffer blooming with the 902h with most led ir at some point due to the camera being sensitive. What range are you shooting to? Did you buy the nm800ir from new?

look's like this one http://www.securitycamera2000.com/products/420TVL-SHARP-CCD-Color-Board-Camera-3.6mm-Lens-10m-IR.html If it is the same cam it has a 1/4 ccd sensor,no use for nv as it's to small. Have you disabled the ir diodes on the board? Has it got a filter in front of the ccd?...some colour cams have, although it claims to be for night use so it shouldn't have. Have you got the nm800ir on full power setting?....the cam might not be sensitive enough to detect ir light on the lower/middle setting of the 800ir Some have used these cams with good effect http://www.securitycamera2

Starting To Build My Own Night Vision.

Is this the cam http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280933990746?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D280933990746%26_rdc%3D1 You'll probably have to mess with the on screen display settings, more trouble then they are worth those osd cam's,some seem to work very good while others are shite. -
What camera is it?...can you post a link to it?
-
Really.......I'd never have guessed

Fitted with oslon black 850nm,power via 2 x 18650 batteries (not included) will accept tail/pressure pad switch from ultrafire c8 Ideal airgun range. I use one of these run via 12v battery and 200+yds on a dark night with 902h cam and MTC viper 10x44 so lower mag should give better results. Torch is olive green in colour. £35 posted http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebster6419/ir%20host/Photo755_zpsa7c68d73.jpg flood http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebster6419/ir%20host/Photo756_zpsda6e1052.jpg Full focus http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebs

Sorry lads, torch sold on flea bay.

What aspheric's in the head? ahorton or a DX ? The lens that came with the torch, which works as it's designed to do. Had it of had a flat glass lens then I'd have changed it but I've yet to find a zoom torch with a flat glass lens

Fitted with 850nm oslon black ir led, twist lens focus from flood to beam, one only as I did the mod to compare to a 12v slidy zoom ir torch I did. Performance on a par with the slidy and able to clearly see trees at 204yds with watec spotter. Takes 1 x 18650 battery, factory fitted led to star and correct driver fitted. 40mm glass aspherical lens,140mm L X 30mm body. Forget ebay 501's,this will leave them in the dark! £40 posted signed for etc. http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebster6419/ir%20host/Photo749_zpscc4bad9c.jpg http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebs

Probably this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tC60g-v5uQ although it look's to me like it's an attempt at slagging off the ns200.....maybe in favour of nite hunter.....again
-
For two reasons....I already have probably one of the better scopes for this kind of nv in the mtc viper, albeit a fixed 10x but due to decent camera and good ir I can get away with 10x easy to airgun range Reason 2 is the 25mm is of a good quality and accepts a 30.5mm camera filter step up ring, using other rings I'm able to screw the camera onto the ocular lens on the mtc and hawke tac 30 Like so.... http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebster6419/night%20vision/Photo731_zpsf35b4841.jpg http://i1009.photobucket.com/albums/af220/weebster6419/night%20vision/Photo732_zps66a86387.jp

The 902 is off the rifle set up,just lashed together with leccy tape, battery and screen etc.....funny thing is the sony cam I borrowed of the bro and although it filmed the screen last night when the 902 was attached to a 10x44 viper it would not focus on just the 902 and screen tonight....god knows why,the daughter was doing the filming and I'm sure she mucked up the settings Last night's footage was of a tree 204 yds away, pic was a bit grainy using 10x and would have been far better using 5 or 6x mag,but unfortunately both scopes I own are 10x which are ok out to 50yds for shooting but at
