What battery are you using Pete?.....only if it's a cheapy one you'll probably find the mah rating is no where near what's written on it. Someone has posted pics on nvfuk forum showing a cheap 18650 battery dismantled only to find one of those small lithium batteries inside (cr 123?) what a con. It pays to buy decent batteries for an oslon based ir torch to get the best out of it........or go 12v.

See a good few of these requests threads for HD sniper cam ....firstly it's not HD,the dvr is Hd if used with the camera supplied with it,which it isn't as the supplied cam is no good for nv and has a mini usb type plug,in fact it might be that only recording is HD with the right Hd cam being used. I believe this is the dvr http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121149253565?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D121149253565%26_rdc%3D1 and as you can see the screen resolution is not HD,only the recording would be HD IF used with a suitable camera to record at th

Monochrome (b&w) cameras such as the watec 902h don't have an ir filter, only colour cams have it to adjust the colours for daytime otherwise they look a bit strange/washed out due to IR light in daylight. You don't have to remove the ir filter from all cams, the better quality colour day/night cams will still peform perfectly well for airgun ranges and if the plan is to record daytime shooting it might be better to leave it in place if the cam is good enough when used at night to do what you want it to do. The benefit of removing the filter will mean the cam will pick up more of the ir li

Looks fine and a good price, only difficult bit is if it as an on screen display the control for this maybe on the cable rather than the camera body. Have a look on the pigeon watch forum under the diy section, bloke called evo has done a fair bit with these types of camera and will no doubt point you in the right direction, although sadly I doubt it will come in at £40! Loads of budget builds on here in the nv section as well http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/forum.php

.... ....from what I've read about the camera you've linked to it's hard to make out exactly what type and size sensor it is but to point out a couple of downfalls.... Not suitable to pal....not really a big problem as most screens cater for both usa/uk region formats 130 degree lens would give you a great image of the inside of your scope, whether you could change the lens is something you would have to ask the seller The biggest pitfall is it's a reversing camera so the image it sends to your screen may well be a mirror image....like looking in your rear view mirror at an object at the

There are a lot of dodgy batteries out there tbh,I have xtar and blue ultrafires....the xtar perform better.
-
I'm even more surprised at your findings now,I thought the ej230 is one of the better cams out there....albeit after a bit of adjustment within the camera's menu, can't understand the lack of distance tbh, other's seem to do well with this cam.
-
Wasn't having a go at you personally hutchy, strange though the results your getting with the T20,I think mark did do a few for the photon owners using a less powerful oslon black led,now I think he just use's a 3 power mode driver with the 'stacked' version of the oslon black. Just out of interest what bullet camera are you using?
-
Could well be that your camera is "crap",performance won't just be the ir,there are a few other factors such as camera, scope and outside conditions. It would have been better to contact Mark in the first instance before starting this thread,at least then you could eliminate any possible problems with your bullet cam, batteries etc before blaming the ir. As for the red filter....is it an ir filter or just plain 'red' filter,if it's the latter then yes that would work better with any cam than an ir light.

the 16mm lenses from stock optics are of a far superiour quality to the chinese ones...they might both be 16mm,but thats where the similarity ends,as in all things...you get what you pay for Funny....I have 2 identical lens here, one from china and one from stock optics and the only difference imo is price. funny....i have a drawer with about 40 chinese lenses in because i get them free with the cameras i use....i replace them with the ones from stock optics because they are better...imo. If you read the spec of the lenses you have and compare them i think you will see the differ
