    lurcher to lurcher cross a fox dog needs terrier blood if he,s going to take fox on a regular basis.i prefer about quarter wheaton with touch of bull at least half grayhound the rest deerhound/salukey/collie/grayhound/whippet whatever ur favourite cross is thats just my choice.had first crosses grayhound/wheaton and grayhound/bull both inclined to come to slow for small lands,3 quarter bred were very good but kept getting injured.heres a pic of one of my dogs wheaton/grayhound/deerhound(old breed)touch of bull

    bogland is fairly rough terrain ran it many a time need fast dog when its wet,but when its dry its good fun need tall dog lots of cover plenty of places for hare 2 dodge dog and large open areas also for good run?

    HAD ONE 22 YRS AGO OUTSTANDING ALLROUNDER WAS OBSESSED WITH KILLING FOX'S,WAS A LOT OF TOP CLASS DEERHOUND CROSSES ABOUT THEN, FIRST CROSS AND SECOND CROSS DOGS.BUT NOWADAYS ALL THE GAMENESS IS GONE, MUST BE THE SHOW RING RUINED A LOT OF BREEDS INCLUDING THE DEERHOUND.WAS OUT BEATING COVER ONE SUNDAY LAST SEASON COUPLE OF LADS OUT WITH DEERHOUNDS, WERE ON WAY BACK TO VANS DOGS WALKING LOOSE BESIDE OWNERS WHEN LARGE FOX RAN OUT DITCH ACCROSS 20 ACRE, FIELD THE FOUR DOGS COURSED THE FOX TO FAR DITCH NOT ONE DOG WOULD STRIKE FOX ,DOGS CAME BACK OWNERS SHOUTING GREAT COURSE WELL DONE DOGS, NOT MY

    TRY RUNNING AN EXPERIENCED DOG BEFORE HIM, LET HIM WATCH FOR A FEW SLIPS,THEN SLIP HIM ON NEXT RABBIT,MIGHT GIVE HIM THAT EXTRA PUSH TO FINISH THE JOB.GOOD LUCK ?
