  1. I agree with the above they charge you a fortune for the vaccinations and i can get them to do myself for £5.00 each, how much profit do they need to make on them ?
  2. You must start off with a good solid recall and treat the dog every time he comes back to you, with a small ammount of cheese, chicken or anything he likes. Once you have a good recall, then and only then move onto throwing a ball, dummy, dont throw it a long distance 5-6 foot is plenty to begin with, when the dog picks the object use what ever verbal cue (command) so the dog returns to you (he should do this as he is used to returning to you for a treat) when he comes to you take the ball, dummy and give him a treat (just like the recall). Dont do too much as to sicken the dog i advise only
  3. sorry bout the colourful language you caught me at a bad moment. I will ,hive advise if they want it i have helped hundreds of people over the net for free, because i am a nice person really lol. Good luck to you both
  4. I take that to heart, i dont think i am on the wrong website, if you were a plumber or bricky you wouldnt work for f**k all would you NO, so why the f**k should i. I spent 3 full years at bishop burton college doing a foundation degree in canine behaviour and training and that is my line of work. I will help anyone wherever i can and i would of helped the guys who posted this. Why would you not get someone else to help you train your dog is there a problem with that? I stated i dont use harsh metods by this i mean i dont kick the f**k out of any dog and i never would. If someone who doesnt
  5. A lot of people have big problems with there dogs retrieving and theres a simple answer pay me £100.00 and i will guarentee i will get your dog retrieving within 1 week, if i dont then you dont pay a penny (not even kenneling fees) I dont use any harsh methods, i dont pen them in so they cant run off, no e collars. Zoe I have just looked at your post and you are only down the road from me.
  6. I have mine done as pups and then a year after that, i was also told that too much vaccine can harm your dog. I did loose a pup through having vaccine it made him fit, and then he lost his sight, the vet put it down to the vaccinations (dont know). The only ones i keep up to date with vaccines is my breeding stock. I know there were big discussions about this with the vet association a few years ago and they brought out a vaccination that only has to be done every 3 years instead on annualy.
  7. It all depends on your personal preference, i have 3 springers and 1 cocker they both do the same jobs and do them well, the only difference is the cocker is a lot hotter and is constantly on the move even if we are stopped having lunch she is busy, busy. Some people find the springers easier to train because they are not as busy as the cockers.Good luck on your decision it is not easy to make a decision like that.
  8. Yes he sits, recalls quite well, will pick a puppy dummy and bring it back to hand just started introducing the whistle, oh and he walks to heel (not all the time tho)

  18. They have grown up quick, turned into a very nice looking dog hes a credit to you. We have seen both mum and dad working been out ratting with them and they are good hard working dogs, all the best Zoe N David
  19. Hi Sue, Welcome to thl, nice to see another female on here, you will sure have a laugh and learn lots of stuff. Zoe
  20. If hes only 5 months old i wouldnt rush to get him on fur or feather yet, i would keep doing what you are doing, but introduce a puupy dummy. Keep going with the recall and sitting to whistle, once you get him onto fur and feather he may not be interested in dummies or tennis balls which makes it difficult to train directional work. He is still very young and i would wait until everything else is perfect and you have generlised all the behaviours. He is a nice looking pup. Ps I would not run him with the terriers either yet.
  21. Cheers everyone, by the way he is a she lol. I am a girly ta

  23. We have a cocker that for the first time in 4 years did this drunken thing last year on a beat day, and yes he was fit enough as i have a very strict fitness routine for all the working dogs, we changed his food for a higher protien food 32% and gave him re charge. This seemed to solve the problem. But i also had a young ESS he was 20 weeks old i got him from a dear pal of mine who trials and one day i had him out just messing about in the garden when he suddenly he froze and started to shake, salivate, and have a sort of fit, this only lasted a few seconds but then he could not see. He went
