  1. What's your budget? Any guns in particular you were looking at?
  2. ...they have now....... playing in the snow then....Russia
  3. Montana for me. I think SGC still have an offer on them?
  4. edit: Being naturally left-handed, but having played golf right-handedly, I'd prefer a left-handed weapon(I notice on some for sale forums people seem to specify a left-handed gun, I wasn't previously aware that there was much difference), but if it's significantly cheaper, right-handed would be fine. Delighted to see another southpaw!! You will see much written about the need for left handed rifles - mostly suggesting that we should just get on with it with a mainstream right handed rifle. There are two areas to consider - stock and action. STOCK: The butt end of the rifle is
  5. what I meant was, do you want to use it all year round (four season), so will be a more heavily padded version - or just something water/windproof for spring/autumn (two season...well three really cos of summer). Do you want camo or non.... In descending price range: Harkila £££££ Aigle or John Partridge ££££ Deerhunter £££ (BTW, Sportsmanguncentre have some good online deals ATM) Hurricane (Deben) ££ Army Surplus £ I have always bought trade names (GoreTex for waterproof or Vibram for soles for example) when it comes to technical - GoreTex guarantee waterpro
  6. Paddy, What use (four season or two season etc.) and how much are you going to part with?
  7. Hi Gloria_Mundi, I have always found everyone on this forum extremely helpful - but they need something to work with to give you the benefit of some excellent experience. I see someone has already been generous enough to offer to take you out - can't beat that as the way forward for learning in the field. I'd do the same if I were closer. So, please could you tell us a bit about you: What has prompted you to start thinking about doing this - is it interest or need (you have a rabbit problem) for example? Do you have any equipment at all? Is it something you'll stay with? (This
  8. I've been testing a very good LED torch that I now use on rimfire, let alone air. Find it much more manageable and versatile than Clulite or Lightforce lamps, although they have their places - more for C/F though. Also much cheaper than Clulite, Tiablo or Fenix LED options (and brighter!).....<div>A couple of my shooting mates now have them as a result. PM me and I can share some more details and photo's etc. - should give you an option if nothing else.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers<br><br><br> </div>
  9. Sako do list the 85 both in 'Hunter' and 'Varmint' in 204 according to their 2010 catalogue. Also you can add CZ 527 to the list of options......
  10. ...and what sort of budget are you thinking?
  11. Hi, Howa, Ruger and Savage all do 204's (assuming you're right handed). Like you, I think the aesthetics are important. The Ruger is a nice traditional looking thing, as is the Savage. Howa have a very interesting take on having a variety of stocks and barrels to 'custom build' - looks really nice in some configurations and seems to have a reliable reputation. Unfortunately, I'm a Southpaw and have ended up going 243 for the moment for choice/availability/range of use. HTH
