Kev I'm a member of the Holderness and Humber Wildfowling association which includes the area where the famous Stanley Duncan shot. I'm sure if you got in touch with the club they would be happy to show you the ropes. Hope it helps

On my permission they have started to sow peas. What I want to know is in your experience how does it take before the pigeons will start to nail it ??? Cheers

My 14 month old lab is coming on very well, but when retrieving he sometimes stops about a metre away and messes about? I throw a tennis ball every other day for him and use a dummy regular, maybe 3 to 4 times per week and he is fine but with pigeons he has started to muck about. Any tips please to get him back to hand ? Cheers Billybob

I was always told my products which I ordered were out of stock !!! I bet that he is waiting for another 4-5 weeks for the decoys, that’s providing he gets them at all and how many phone calls in between times? To simple blame there ex-staff is a very poor excuse, if he was a proper business man he would have got rid of them straight away and apologies to everyone. However, the staff member has gone, they still take peoples cash and still fail to deliver products !! How long can this go on for !! Decoying.co.uk

My old bitch is about 12, hasn't worked for a few years due to injury but in her days she was a good rabbiting dog, lamp/ferrets etc. Although she did have every think else she exercise more hares than she caught! Still she did me ok. I know a bloke who had a collie x greyhound who caught his last fox at the grand old age of 15 and had to be put down 7 months later due to old age and illness. He was the best all round working lurcher I've every seen.

Now then Pal I've never seen anyone beating with Beddy x whippets, although I have heard of a chap who uses 2 for beating and other purposes. I take it you would use the little lurcher for lamping rabbits as well as ferreting ? If not I would look at a different breed for beating. Just an opinion, I have 2 terriers, 1 used for everything except earth work as he's too big and the other just rats and earth/bale work. I have an old retired lurcher who used to mainly lamp although she was a very good ferreting dog, but now she just stinks! I also have a young lab who is coming on a treat.

Cheer Dave I'll cut down his time with retrieving etc and do more basics. Hopefully I'll get my hands on some game soon so cold rerieves may start late next week. You say rescue, the woman couldn't see what she was doing wrong !!!!!!!!!!! When someone says that she hasn't got time to walk the dog because she and the kids don't get back home until 5.50pm it make you wounder what she thinks every other dog owner does! Thanks again
-
I'm sure we'll ge there, thanks again. Yes I'm also in East Yorkshire near Withernsea. Not good that your dog broke your leg !!! I suppose he ran into you? This dog of mine doesn't know his size yet either!! Cheers

Thanks for that Clare He does it with both dummy and tennis ball ! He has retrieved dummies with pigeon wings on fine but I haven't use a winged dummy for a couple of weeks. I think that a bit of a rest is good advice. I don't want to fail with him as I already have 3 other dogs (1x Lurcher and 2x terriers)and I don't swap dogs, so no room for failure. I guess I need to take thing nice and steady. Thanks again Billybob

My Lab is 11 months old, I have had him for 6 weeks now and got him from a home where he didn't even go for a walk let alone have any schooling (I wish anti's and the general public knew what real cruelty was !!!!) Anyway, when I first picked him up he didn't know how to do anything, he clearly had never seen a ball before and asking him to jump into the back of a truck simply terrified him. After an hour and a walk I had him coming back and sitting on the whistle and since then I taken him out on his own for "training". Now, he can retrieve a ball or dummy on land and water. He can sit and

Now then Bish Have you got your own permission for rabbiting etc ?? If so, why can't you get many? I used to rabbit etc all day and night and only get a few, this was due to a large peice of land to cover with very few bunnies about. However, as I lernt more I got more in the bag. I'm a Sheffield lad, although I still live in Yorkshire but not Sheffield. Get in touch if you want for a chat.

Now then Shooterman, I placed an order earlier this year and it never came from Decoying.co.uk. I ended up speaking to BASC regarding their crap service, I was trying to buy some FUD Duck decoys and refused to speak to me in the end. Decoying.co.uk told BASC that it was due to a container not turning up !! Not my problem when they have my money! It was only this action which enabled me to get my money back. Best of luck getting your money back, try pigeondcoying.co.uk in Ireland they were very good. I recommend that you go to BASC as Decoying.co.uk are a registered trade member !!!!!!!! Che
