I had one go off with symptoms like that... slight weez and the odd sneeze. treated it with tylan which seemed to do the trick for a bit but she then fell by the wayside again. I was guessing it was just like a general cold but maybe you could expand more? Best way to treat it?

Jasper you could always try moving your bantams when they go broody to a different nest box/house etc and so end the others hens laying/disturbing your broody. You should be able to tell when your hens sitting tight easy enough and then just move her during the night with her eggs. If shes still sitting tight after a day or two give her the clutch of eggs you want her to hatch. Ive done it a couple of times this year and hopefully will a couple more.. I'm using silkie /silkiex sussex and they're gems.

Good luck with the show.. I'd say you'll still get a good turnout as most who attend such things only hunt during the summer, and they need a smart dog for what they're hunting. Oh and don't forget the lads whos cocks grow 6 inchs when telling they're tales from the weekend before. Seriously though.. Hope all goes well for you. A show for a good cause cannie do much harm

Do you think hares do breed all year round JD.. but feb/march would be there main breeding season or what? Or does ''boxing'' occur all year round as well and people are just more observant of it in March? But then again with the hounds.. Feburary/March time could of seen you having some cracking hunts.. usually ''clean out of town''.. on a travelling buck hare, which generally never happens at other times in the season. So is it feb/march ie' Spring coming in just gets the hares all thinking they're lean, mean sex machines ... Nature eh

Does anyone know the real reason hares ''box'' in march? Was always told breeding etc.. But from reading bits and pieces and 1st hand expieriences there seems to be leverets all year round and March defo isn't the start of there breeding season. Maybe just a sign of spring? But surely with the differences in weather etc.. there dates would change a bit!? Anyone?

Lovely jubbly mate.. Hounds look in good fettle for the start of the season to All the best with them.. Out ourselves yesterday and today again.. Early morning stuff, heats a killer and soon saps them but it's good to be getting back out.

The mind boggles, it really does. Are we not in this together nomatter how you hunt. What was the saying...oh yeah divide and conquer. Couldn't care what use call it to be honest.. i still say it's sickening for a dog man to see it, and i don't know many dog men that don't.
