unwanted ferrets re-homed,ferrets wanted
wullieh replied to ferretsandhawks's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
well said as we just took 4 jills for someone last week who was desperate to get them out of season even though they should have got the jab but they said they could not afford it and i know some will say we should not give them back if they cannot afford to look after them properly but its nice to know that we helped out and there ferrets are in tip top condition, this topic is not meant to cause arguments its just a service that not many people offer and anyone who doubts then why not take the time to come and view, good luck any pics of you set up? -
the one one the right is by far the best with a good solid mask and dark nose, are they crossed with hybrid?

I took two ferrets into my vets in early march to get a vasectomey done, the ferrets belonged to my friends and one told me he has now got 16 kits out off two jills he put with wount be a problem getting them homes as they will prob be dark polecats, but spoke to the vet today and it is booked back in for next week to get done again this time they will remove an extra part of the tube to make sure it works, the vet when contacted offered straight away to do the operation again or a full refund. this i thought ws very nice of him as some will just say you signed a disclaimer.

he is just free fed mate but dont eat much if any more than a standard hob ferret the fluffy hair makes him look bigger than he is.

now thats a big ferrit are they all this big i was thinmking the same thing , thats one big ferret not sure mate this angora has however slimmed down now think it was that size due to its first winter bulk and living with nine neutered hobs so prob competing for food.

Yep looks a bit tight otherwise good cage. Wulliegh why would anyone want to clip a working ferrets nails?.P1 are you serious? nails can and will become long during the summer months if not working and i know the back nails need less of a trim but iy you leave them they tend to grow thick and tart to curl also if they are too lond then the ferret cant put its foot out properly and must cause some discomfort to the ferrets having to walk like that.

got to say it one of the best starter hutches ive seen mate you have put alot of effort into it, as for ferretone you dont need it to hand tame your ferrets and daily handling is normaly enough but it has it uses by putting it on there belly they lick it off if if you want to clip there nails.

Have you checked that the grub srews that hold you barrel to the stock are tight as i had a problem with my gun last week and found that they had started to come loose.
-
it was just new batts last week but i normally open the batt flap up as my digital camerea drains them in a couple of days, but forgot all about it as camerea was still in the car after my last hunting trip.

Well it was our biggest gamefair in scotland this weekend and i was there with the ferrets doing abit of pr but had my gun in the 4x4 so on the way home decided to stop off for some bunnes as my friend has just had two litters due to a faled vasectomey on his hob ferret, was only shooting for about 2 hours but the end of the day total came to 13 sorry no pics as batteries were dead in camera but out off the 13 there was only 1 adult the rest were sqealers or 3/4 grown but did notice that they are not as daft and starting to know my 4x4 as before i would get within an easy 30yrd but now go wit

Hi tom is joe coming up with you this year? The one why not pop by the ferrets at in gamekeepers row and say hi would be nice to put a face to you. -
NO I'm sure you won't breed it until someone has the right money.P1 sorry but your wrong mate both myself and my partner are in well paid jobs and dont need money so this ferret will not be bred from even if you offered me £1000 just to put him over your jill with the risk of no kits living, i would tell you not for breeding end off. me and the wife have well paid jobs lardie da, i could have swaped a ferret for a lab pup at a show lardie dar, moneys no object ... hay mate the shake mahamids got a few quid but hes racing stallons still serve mares and he still takes the millions off it

one thing i was told by a game keeper to get the best out of your offspring never knowing if you might want to trace the line it 8 wks is ok 10 wks is better but 12 weeks even better this give the jill time to sort them out and also lets you know they used to human contact.

Missed that one?
