  1. do you think that eventually with most gos being bred from imprinted stock, that eventually they will loose their natural spookiness? and become more stabilised overall, Im talking successful imprints being bred by those whom fulfil the birds mind with hunting as opposed to breeders who simply chamber them breed em? eventually turning out slightly more manfriendly stable hawks of this type? My knowledge of falconry is very limited but surely thats how it should be with any animal bred for purpose ?You'd be suprised at the level of peddling that goes on in falconry, I thought the dog world wa

  6. I hope you do great with it as if practiced right falconry is the best hobbie you can have more like a way of life than a hobbie.you are right disappointingly about people passing Harris hawks on I personally believe you should get the bird you want first of all I'm mentoring a bloke now he's had a season ferreting for me and cadge carrying but comes round every other day to clean my mews boxes etc he wants a peregrine/saker and hell be out this coming season game hawking at grouse 2 with me and flying one of my falcons ready for his bird.
  7. Bit late now really mate that's why potential austringers should go out 4-5 times a week with a mentor to see if they have the time not testing themselves after they got the bird so they don't end up with a bird not really hand on heart know if they have time etc hope you do for the birds sake. theworkingferret the above post is not the way to go about falconry.
  8. That's the way tO go about it ^ even offer to ferret for someone always handy that I have my apprentices ferret and clean bird boxes mews for 2 seasons if they stick with me for that long I will give them one of my birds for nothing but not many newbies want to stick around for that long I think out of 11 would be austringers I've given 2 fresh birds both were women just don't try to do it to quick take your time ask lots of questions their is a hell of a lot to take in.
