Just read threw my journal on her 2nd season Flying free at 2.10.1/2 hunting fur at 2.8.3/4 and feather at 2.8 she's now got a hunting weight at 9 years. of 2.11.3/4

To get my old female on pheasants I had to do a little weight reduction so she was a tad keener try maybe 1lb 5 mate if Keen enough he will fly them!

Well Of course you'd have a reason sound yourself out not to be a total newbie. But anyway a days course is a waste you need to find a seasoned falconer go out with him or her for 2 seasons ish then when youve got all your kit including telemetry then maybe if your ready get the bird that is best suited to the land and quarry you have avalible. What you have to understand is by you getting a bird with no real knowledge no telem nothing just google and YouTube to train your Harris hawk witch is a joke! People like you will get are sport banned just getting a bird with no proper understanding of

I don't think you've got much of a clue. Actually I don't belive you flew a harris as you wouldn't of got it from a chick and had great results with a imprint not having any experience or a mentor. why don't you start your introduction again with the truth and then il give you a awnser you are looking for. Males can catch hares the only thing a female has on a male is weight a male red is similar to flying a stocky female Harris I would want to be carrying a lumpy 3lb plus female atound

Very hard 3 grouse today one for my red nape and 2 were caught by a friend on the single moalt now ?

If your interested in flying a falcon you won't need the ferrets mate Andy Hughes at dunrobin castle is a brilliant falconer and a good friend if you went to see him he may be able to point you in the direction of local boys!

Find a seasoned falconer not a 2-3 season Harris hawker to mentor you and that will be all you need

Their are loads of half wits in falconry because it's easy to get a bird and Harris hawks are not hard to get hunting to a degree the gos market is going the way of the Harris you can pick a female Finnish gos up for 6-700 quid couple of seasons ago they were 2 grand but millet isn't the sort of guy to fob his bird off to the nearest numbpty he's put 7 yrs hard work into it
