  4. i am interested in the behavour of the animals around the traps. I believe the american trapper, Clint Locklear, did a night trapping dvd on coyotes, coons, cats etc which pioneered improved trapping sets. "Teachers of the night."

  15. alan lived in the red rose county, i have never seen any of his dogs he kept, used for ratting or rabbiting. he kept terriers only for earth work and did all the fox control in our area. i remember digging with some of his terriers, some on here may also remember them, "rocky" and "fettler." if you remember them you will realise how long ago that was, he also had some good fox killing lurchers , "billy" a merle greyhound collie was a good dog. he kindly gave me one of his black fell terrier pups and he was a keen worker on fox but sadly suffocated digging on to a big un in his third seas
  16. "The Paki's Bitch" is this a pure bred saluki imported from pakistan for a reputed £10,000?
  17. i had a similar situation, the vet diagnosed a form of meningitis which proved fatal. the dog was dead within 24 hours of collapsing, he was previously presenting as fit and healthy with no indications of illness being seen. i hope you have more luck.
  18. Good collie x greyhounds will soon learn to run clever rather than stand out as all out coursing dogs. I personally do not favour mixing the saluki with collie x greyhounds and instead would use pure saluki for coursing.
  19. I recall meeting mr.nuttall on a mink hunt on the ribble over 20 years ago, his dogs that day were very small black smooth coated fell terriers however he also put out dogs with a very respected local terrier man, these were very different to the dogs i saw on the mink hunt, they were much more suitable for a days digging and could be very hard on foxes. some of the best dogs were undershot but had excellent nose and were as game as they come.
  20. Any one remember dogs called "black jack" or "billy" from lancashire way?
  21. hi all i'm new here but not to field sports. Used to work collie x greyhounds and black fell terriers but have been out of the scene for a while. Just got a greyhound x whippet pup to have some fun.
