    Gypsy Joe, thats some generalization bud for a type of dog thats made up of different crosses, that said I've only had half a dozen lurchers over the last 30 years so cant comment on "most" lurchers but only the ones I've owned, all were fine with the air rifle acting as retrievers, 2 wouldnt thank you to be near a shotgun, the others made passable assistants whilst rough shooting.if a dog would yap whilst anticipating a shot then surely it would exhibit that behaviour eg pre slip or pre bolt? And im sorry but dont really understand exactly how you mean unpredictable? surely if its your animal

    Like any other people, you get good ones you get bad ones.however whilst a lot of us do what we do for sport/pest control they're trying to make their living and as such like the rest of us answer to a boss and have to enforce his policies, having said that the very worst ones I've encountered have been amateur or part time.power crazed with scant regard or knowledge of the laws or it would seem the job they were pretending to do.

    Yup, fair play with the sit dont think its hugely important but if your training anyway seems churlish not too lol.nets though, think I'd be letting the dog see a longnet/stopnet, maybe incorporating it into training to jump, we all got our own ways though as im sure you agree.Atb

    Recall, retrieve, sit, stay, stop, hand signals(last two optional), stock breaking including poultry break to ferrets, jumping, familiarise with nets im sure if I've missed anything someone will fill in the gaps.
