No problem ..... i can see your point, the bitch shouldn't have been bred that early. But it was a genuine accident, he was showing no interest in the bitch and i was late pulling him out. The kids were teasing me i had bought a gay stud dog, obviously not. I was worried she wouldnt look after the pups because of her age but she has been fantastic, for a year old bitch.

They're good healthy pups, the blood lines there, there is new imported blood in them.. i ended up paying over £1500 for the dog.. most teckels are going for over £600. I did not let the bitch breed it was an accident, but having said that the bitch & pups have done very well! Thats the last justification i'm making, if you dont want them dont comment.

I have a litter of mini teckel pups for sale 4 dogs and 3 bitches, the dog is an imported dog from good bloodlines, which i imported from Poland, i have only used him on Rabbits, i imported him in Febuary and he is working well. The bitch i bread myself and i have her mother, the mother is a fab worker. The bitch had not done alot and i was just starting to take her out when i noticed she was with pup. She should not have been bred as it was her first season, obviously i removed the dog from the run to late. I have only bred the mother once and she is 3, i would obviosly have not bred a young

Definately get a young bird mate !!! Do some homework read a couple of books and watch a few videos. Get some advice off a experienced falconer, frankly the advice you have been given makes very little sense. WHEN youve got the principles sorted in your head ALL the equipment such as scales and suitable housing etc and if you still want to go ahead then do it. Its not rocket science to train a Harris IF you do your homework and youve got help at hand. If you rush into it you will make a complete hash of things. Male Harris 3 years old and a female Redtail, use the redtail for the lamp and for sqirrels, and harris with the dogs and socially flying with my mates. Have not lamped the redtail yet so that my first chalange.

My Teckel bitch is looking mighty full Mike , i think its safe to assume hes got lead in his pencil...... Pups should be born around the 20th August i think.

Its not rocket science mate, aslong as you now what your doing. For people who rush into getting birds without the necessary knowledge of the principles of wait control and trainning etc its not the entering you need to worry about but killing or losing the bird. If you read up on it, dont rush into it, and hopefully have someone in your area to give you some guidance, then it is following basic principles. When, or if you do read and gain knowledge, you will find why only certain species are suitable for a beginners. Dont do it on a whim, it takes time and money to do it properly. Don

I have trained both and found a female redtail a much more difficult proposition than a harris hawk, you may get a Harris flying free in two weeks from fat weight, this will not be the case wth a redtail, and if you do it in six, well done. The principles may be the same but the pace of learning is far slower, they are clumsy and niave early on and will fly well one day and at the same weight the next spend 2 hours in a tree. Not trying to be racist, but in all probability its pikeys....... id decide what your prepared to pay, no questions asked, and try to get another p***y to get them back, if the right deals on the table they will take it. The f****r that nicked it wil prob bring it back for the cash, that their mentality fantastic looking dog in the peak of condition !

Its simple the locator is ideal obviously and it will save you time and there is less chance of looseing a ferret, but they are not essentail, ive never lost a ferret (having said that i would have lost one this yoer possibly was it not for it as it was 60 yds down the edge) People managed for years and years without, dont ferret late in the day, and sometimes you may spend a hour twiggling your thumbs, but id wait an hour before digging six feet anyway. I ferret for fun, i worked under ground for 10 years the shovel holds no romance for me

Ive got a teckel bitch which i am more than happy, with ive also enjoyed reading post on this forum about jagdterriers etc. I realise there are probably more and better breeds in this country than most others and they have been bred to do the job in conditions in this country. BUT has anyone been curious about working or researching any breeds not usually used to work in this country that may do a very good job.

I'd suggest getting a good dog to push rabbits out of that cover their in mate, a good bushing dog a terrier or spanial.Also a ferret if there are plenty of burries in the land your hunting on. The dog is essentially a sight hound, and you will not find loads of rabbits sitting out just waiting to be chased in daylight. Need to push them out for the dog. Unless you hunt him on the lamp at night, then they will be out in areas that the dog has ample chance to run them.

Can seewhy people do it ........ not just walking away from the mrs...... walking away from responsibility, from commitments etc etc Some people love their jobs, but how many of us groan when we go to work spending half your f*****g life doing somthing you dont want to do for money you dont really need, to spend on shit like mobile phone contracts, and so you mrs can buy salmon cutlets that get chuckked in the bin because your both working differnt shifts and you never get round to cooking them. I put the bird out on the bow on the lawn, peg the ferret out like a goat a safe distance from the harris. The more the bird sees of the ferret the better and i agree with Some of the other posts. Ive also got a ferret hutch in the mews with the bird. Dont fly loose over ferrets unless they are used to them, u will wnd up with a nailed ferret. The bird is driven by hunger the ferret is food.
