Just broken the spade I used for mole traps, it was an old "border " spade a little big and cumbersome but done the job,was wondering what the experienced guys recommend?

as a relatively new comer to this forum I have enjoyed the vast amount of information shared on here and read a lot of informative posts, i tend to steer clear of the "know it all's" and the bickering that goes with it, unfortunately this behaviour is not solely isolated to this forum but is evident in most other forums.
nevertheless I will continue to read all genuine informative posts and ignore all the other cr*p that goes with it.
I was looking to purchase some "duffus" style mole traps and was looking through all well known suppliers websites and picked out two suppliers, i opted for cheap traps from one and some little more expensive traps from the other, just to see difference in quality, workmanship, delivery etc both were delivered this week and the difference was staggering, the only thing they had in common was delivery which only took a couple days but the quality, material used and workmanship was a massive difference, i understand that you get what you pay for and all that but I did not realise that some trap
interesting reading these posts by experienced mole catchers,i see some people say they set one or two traps per mole,for someone that doesnt know much about mole trapping how can you tell how many moles there are in a field / garden?
as i said in earlier post i was going to put my cabinet in attic as i have a timber frame house,would it be acceptable to lay an upright cabinet horizontally across joists (3) and secure with 70mm coach bolts? or does it have to be fitted vertically?

NO ! i believe it is only if you are using them,at the course i attended GWCT course the question was asked and the reply was it is an offence only if you are using them ,
