  1. They are massivly underrated mate!I wouldn't be without mine, he's a nose like a blood hound, and balls the size of house bricks . Seen many at work over the years that most people would be over the moon to own, if they were prepared to drop their egos!
  2. Spot on, no need to cross a whippet with anything. Will do what your'e after 100%.
  3. Might be the picture, but that pup doesn't look 12 months old. Didn't think you get brindle I G's either. Might be wrong, nice pup though
  4. Well the dam was 22tt and sire 26, but I've know parents of the same height to throw out a pup of 27tt ? My bitch's dam is first x D/G 26.5" tts and sire is first x C/G 25" tts, my bitch was already 28" tts at 9 months old, 3 wks ago. Her height doesn't affect her agility or picking up in the slightest. She's more agile/athletic than a couple of my mate's dogs and one is 24.5 tts and the other is 26 tts. Wouldn't worry too much about height unless you just plan on ferreting. . Should've added by ' picking up' I meant dummies etc, not rabbits. She won't be tried for a good while yet, st
  5. Did mine just now, had aproblem with the @ button on my keyboard, sorted now
  6. Well done for not getting a pup with no bull in it. Really don't see the point of em. Never had em years ago, and still don't see the point in em, ( for normal lurcher work ) , unless just digging, which they are very suited to. Plenty of other types/crosses are far more suitable for everything else. A l b with your pup
  7. LOL Yeah I know. What bugs me is the fact that I was catching rabbits etc, when the nearest most of the gobby twats on here got near to any rabbits were the ones on their pyjamas! I am new to ferreting so not going to pretend to say the same. It would be fun to actually know the truth on how much people catch. I will never go out to get more than my family and animals can eat. Hope you enjoy the forum for what it is. There are plenty of people on here that actually give some good advice. Not to mention their stories are good too. Stories yeah, I read em and some of them I think to m

  9. Tell me what's wrong with looking at someone's profile then. I thought the idea of people putting their profiles up on this site was for others to maybe get a bit of that persons interests etc. Maybe I'm wrong Some people are afraid that you might find out they are doing things they shouldn't be doing You can look at my profile all you want I'm scared to now in case I get picked on! lol
  10. Nice to get some civil replies. Why are some people on here so touchy and paranoid?

  12. Didn't intend to raise any hackles, apologies if I have. I suppose I could've chosen a slightly less sensitive subject as a first topic . Will engage my brain before next post.
  13. Thanks, just interested to hear what peoples prefered types are/were. Some people are just too paranoid for their own mental wellbeing ( dotty! ).
  14. :feck: :feck: Open forum, very constructive!
  15. I've ran and used most types of running dogs over the years, both purebreds and crosses, to catch all sorts of quarry, especially edible stuff, and have my own preferences. Just interested as to what types you guys would choose, and why? Not looking for what you think is the best for specialsed tasks, just personal preferences.
  16. I've owned and seen purebred whippets chase and catch rabbits into and through some unbelievably thick cover/brambles without seeming to hardly slow down. Also seen em kill rats as quick or quicker than most terriers and tackle practically anything that moves! I honestly think that most people who say whippets are fragile, weak or not game or need a terrier or whatever crossed into it have never even seen a good whippet at work. Properly bred, sensibly entered whippets will outwork most lurchers at the majority of tasks that the most lurchers are put to. I've kept running dogs of most typ
  17. Will be running a c/g x d/g from next season, as at the moment she's only 7 months. Chose this type as the ones that I've seen have been very good all rounders ( day and night ), with one or two of them being exceptional on certain quarry. Will put up pics when I've resized em. Pics of my pup, I hasten to add!
  18. That's wrong with with most it of all nowadays , too many idiots who are just looking for numbers. Wasn't like that when I started, and as far as I 'm concerned never will be. I don't post often, but this kind of crap really pisses me off!
  19. I've got one. Dam is first x D/G, sire is first x C/G. Both worked regular and taking all quarry day and night. She 7 months old on the 21st. She 26" tts now, easy to train, bright ,agile, fast and getting stronger by the day. She's the most promising pup I've had. I'm quite pleased with her. Will get some pics up soon.
  20. I spent 5 days in hospital after I got kicked by that hare's brother! Liar! I will match you on the fens. Or I will beat you up at the next show! GGGRRRRRR FTB I no lie, honest! Anyway doc said I can't attend any shows until my injuries have cleared up!
