They dont come in brindle mindThey any good on mice? I could put up with one if they are, brindle would be of secondary importance if it came from a good line of mousers lol You'll never see a top flight mouse hound without a brindle coat (pre ban), and they were always crossbreds, they needed the hybrid vigour for a hard day on the rough grass Yeah I had a top class mouse hound once, field or fen, and she was brindle, and tall, mind you, saying that, she was worked with a shiny collar on and on the lamp Lol

That is a strong bitch. Is buddy a pure saluki or a line bred saluki/coursing type? he's had saluki greyhound and bedlington in him, line bred coursing dogs

yes i no that i should i gave it more of a chance but i never any yes maybe i made the wrong choice by selling it Nice bitch that, I really was interested in her, and you'll probably be kicking yourself this time next year. You keeping track of her and progress etc?
-
Lurcherlad, without wishing to be contentious, you did take that black and tan pup out lamping at 10 months old after only owning her for a couple of days I think, and you were pissed off that it was pulling up at a few bushes! Now, you can get as defensive, aggressive, pissed off etc with people as much as you like, you were given some good, common sense advice and, like most impulsive newcomers that can't wait, or haven't got the patience needed to have half a chance with a dog, you chose to run it TOO YOUNG, TOO SOON, and seemingly without much knowledge of the bitch. Arcticgun gave some go
-
Can I just say to lurcherlad that a bit more patience is what you need, and listening to the advice offered to you from the people you had your dogs off, in my opinion. Arcticgun bred the litter you had the black and tan pup from, and told you that it'd be next season to try a pup from that litter, or if it wasn't you it was the lad you got the pup off at 10 months, very good advice. And trying any youngster, especially 'some' pure salukis at 10 months and expecting it to do well isn't really a sound idea. I pm'd you about that particular bitch, and would've kept her away from work this season
-
Turned out nice that pup nl. You going to use him just in day or lamp as well?
-
Some of these salukis are starting to take my fancy, and they are two very nice bitches
-
it looks a nice place to be wondering about with the dogs does that germhound. how hove you found that terrain for those 3/4 breds? Yeah be interesting to hear about how the 3/4 breds cope, or is it two thirds bred, can never get my head around that equation?! Lol
-
who's that ? no 1 CHAAAARLY SNIFFER!! :yahoo:lol think it's more than a bit of charly he's been sniffing! Guy's a complete toast rack, 50 year old collie my bollox! lol
-
That's f**k all, there's a guy on here with a fifty year old collie, and it was the best fox dog in scotland in the 60's! Must be worth a f***ing fortune!
-
And here's me thinking you were supposed to just lob them in the ditch, gonna have to stop watching them dvd's and get me a catty and a pyrex dish Shot 'n' retrieved, cooked slowly, lovely
-
as long as it makes between 18" and 30" I will be happy.. :-) There's deerhound in both parents isn't there kps? Tod the sire?

That be the one to go for thenI think I'll have to have this one.. If I seen her a year from now and she turned into a beauty I'd be sick..! That be the one to go for thenI think I'll have to have this one.. If I seen her a year from now and she turned into a beauty I'd be sick..! Certainly looks a cracking pup, and like you said, she aint too pushy and you've fancied it from the start
-
That one laying down certainly got a 'look' about it lol,
-
That be the one to go for then, as many forward/bold pups remain like it as adults and can be a bit too much. As roy said, you don't really want a pup that is too full of itself that it makes training etc more difficult than it should be. And, that is a nice looking pup lol
-
Son? Thanks dad X
-
Skinning it, cooking it then eating it I expect
-
Nice pair of bitches them willow, what's in em?
-
I can relate to that sort of lamping situation more than a few times over the years, and not just with collie x's
-
Howcome you've not commented on 99% of the other complete and utter bollocks written on here then? I personally prefer keeping dogs in house, but for many people that isn't possible or practical. Simple facts are that many dogs, pups, saplings and adults do take a bit of time settling/adjusting to kennel life for many different reasons, and some won't adjust ever. This lad puts more effort, care and consideration into his dogs than probably half of the members on this site. His other dogs have been fine in kennel, and the adult dog he has in one part of kennels now has been no bother at all,
-
Same thing I'm thinking. Alot of the places we lamp are arable, and no slow dog is getting near them. Same thing as some of these reverse 3/4 breds and heavier types, if you took one of these to some of these places, you'd go home empty handed, no matter how experienced the dog is. Again, just what I've seen
