    Aye Have used snipped hobs for a few years now and always worked.Have to give them a bit of time to work their "live rounds " out of their system before putting them over a jill. Once had a wee jill that was lined with a proven snipped hob and went on to have a phantom pregnancy that resulted in her birthing a small fetus type object. Somebody explain to me why I should not breed Black eyed white (silver,,same things) ferrets to each other as when I did, it resulted in a good crop of healthy kits of various colouring

    Still confused as to why the hatches would be offsett, ie one on the top and one on the side. This would mean the hatch on the side would be sprung with a vertical dowel ?? AHH!!! unless they open in different directions !! will check when back home

    Well considering the trap is still where I found it ,then theft is not an issue ,cheers Stubby It was given to the land owner but they had no idea how to use it so it has lay about for a while. The dowels are missing so suspect thats why it was not used. It is mine if I want it and know that I know where to look for info on how to use it I can look into it further. Will see about getting it registered first off , but it is in good condition so it might as well get used. What call birds are suitable? This sounds like an interesting project for me actually and will delve deeper into

    Yup Another one without a clue!! Why do people not do a bit of thinking before doing stuff like this This is why I wanted a sticky ,,but it is now obvious that it would not make a blind bit of difference. What to do mate ,is take your pregnant Jill along to a rescue centre and hand her in, at least that way someone with a scooby about what they are doing will look after her.

    If a Moderator is purchased to be fitted to a firearm then it is classed as a firearm and a slot must be available on your licence for it. This includes 22lr moderators,,,even the parker hale air rifle one (if it is for a 22lr)

    Ey Up Not that well informed on traps so need a help identifying a trap that was found on one of my permissions. Steel mesh, square cross section 3 feet long , divided into three sections. Centre section has wired shut hatch, two ouside sections have sprung hatches 90degree out from each other( ie one on the top and the other on the side) Corvid trap ?? anyone know what it is and how it works?.     Got my level 1 to help with aquiring stalking in East lothian area but it`s sewn up so tight that I`ve given up trying and never progressed to level 2.

    Problem geese can be shot no bother with a rifle. Wouldn`t shoot duck with it tho Agree with most that a 22lr is the way forward. I had a slot on my license for FAC air but never filled it as I managed quite fine with sub 12 and everything else with the 22lr. AND you can pick up 22lr for much cheapness,, even new!

    Yup Border gun room for me also.Very helpfull. Cartridge warehouse in Edinburgh for ammo but not a great deal else.Dicksons in Edinburgh are OK but can induce a heart attack with a price tag at 40 paces. Welsh`s in Duns is also good.

    I have a Mk1 and a Mk3M (magnetic switch). Since I got the Mk3M I have never used the old one again. The new one is far superior.(imo) If you go for a Mk1 you will struggle to get repairs or spares and collars are about 2 billion pounds each.

    Well thank god!! Someone who is doing their homework before gettin the wee buggers,,well done mate I think the best thing you have got so far is the info on here. There are a few good book about but honestly,, Just be well prepared for their arrival and handle them as much as possible.They WILL become much more than just hunting tools and you WILL become attached to the wee blighters so i would say that you will want to get a locator before starting them at work. If you are getting a hob "done" than I would make sure you get him VASECTOMISED,,,,,not CASTRATED!!!! this will save you

    You could be charged with carrying an offensive weapon in a public place. Your car IS a public place, In the boot of the car is NOT a public place. If you can come up with a legit reason for having it the it`s all down to the cops that have caught you. If you have no gun in the car, but have cartriges, you will have a hard time convincing them you`ve been shooting.

    There is not a feckin chance I will be voting for that one eyed Scottish idiot and his shower of pocket lining underhanded backsliding greasy b*****ds. They all learned their trade from that wanker Blair and his feckin horrible missus. Nor will I be voting for that shower of clowns in the SNP, that lot should not be trusted with lego!! dickheads that will see us screwed for their own vanity. And I am proud to be Scottish before I get it in the neck from the nationalists. A lot of thought and respect goes into my vote and I expect that to be recipricated by the people I give it to. So
