  1. You will find that most folk on here have worked hard to get their permission and will suggest that you do the same There are lots of posts on here from blokes looking to get permission handed to them but none have any luck so your best bet is to get out there knocking on doors and trying to get in with the permission owners. Good luck and let us know when you have found yourself somit
  2. Pricelss The ferret forum is a never ending source of both hilarity and despair in equal measures. keeps draggin me in tho !!
  3. Greyhound ferrets ????? wtf Surely just a small ferret ?? I have a large hob who like to jump aboot when eh`s in the house. I think I`ll call him a Kangaroo ferret and sell him to clueless wonders for a premium.
  4. Cheers for the replies blokes. Will see how it goes. She is a great worker and my issue is that the hob is to be snipped this year. If I think it would be too much for her I would not even think about it,,the ferret comes first. If I dont breed from her again, then thats just the breaks. If someone I knows Hob turns out to be a good worker then I will wait and bring that strain in next year Cheers again
  5. Ey up. Well after my post about how excited I was about this litter, it has all taken a turn for the worse. The total born was 7 and as I have said here 2 had died ,hence the question. After another chance to check how she was dealing with it I have found that only 2 kits have survived today. She has cleared up all the rest on her own. To say I am gutted is a bit of an understatement but with a bit of luck ,these two may survive. I know this is just the luck of the draw but it still smarts. This was the first litter for this jill so If she rears the last 2 succesfully then I will have
  6. Hi all This is one that I can never decide on ,so now I`m on here I thought I would throw it to you lot for some opinions. In the litter that my wee Jill has just we now have 2 dead kits. These were easy to see without disturbing her so what to do. The jill is very comfy with us near the litter so do we remove the dead ones for hygenes sake or do we leave well alone and hope she deals with it herself. Like I say this one always has me undecided so what do you all think ???
  7. Could be wrong but iam sure discharging a firearm in a built up area is still illegal in Scotland Yeh it is , but you can still shoot in your garden as long as noise is not a nuisance and no pellets leave your property. Inside your garden boundary is not a built up area.
  8. High quality slipjoints like the case one I have ,have quite a strong action and I`ve found it to be fine. Never shut on me yet anyroad. Its only for general use and it`s not been a problem . Apart from that ,if the law says I can, I will
  9. Bone comb Failing that, Front line.
  10. I dont think 50% work in public sector, but that aside Its not very BRITISH of you ,is it??? Not all Scots want to be ruled by arseholes like Salmond and his band of thieves.
  11. Update We now have 7 kits ,all seem healthy enough so I`m even happier. So are the blokes that want one off me. The jill is still super affectionate and wants out to the wife for a cuddle/clap all the time.
  12. OK You can carry a knife with a blade of 3 inches or less which is non locking (slip joint) These can be carried with NO reason required. If you have a reason, you can carry any suitable knife. If you a rabbiting you can have a sheath knife ,locking knife etc.( you may not get away with a samuria sword for skinning though) Keep it in mind that if you keep a knife in the car when you do not need it, your car is deemed a public place and you can be charged. The car boot is not a public place so you can keep a knife in there. I carry a case whittler slipjoint with me everywhere and w
  13. Myself and another from this this forum, went up to the guys place one night a few years back. We went up with two lurchers to take the guy out as he had never seen lurchers working and he totaly loved it. Got a good few photos of runs on hare ,rabbit. guy had a great night but dont know if it led to him getting dogs or not. We were invited up buy a couple of lads who did some shooting on his land with him. Gut seemed a nice bloke. Well down to earth and was right into his shooting. Given the fact that he had kennels and was totaly minted, it would not surprise me to learn that he trie
  14. Bloody hell mate Hope your freezers well stocked up.. ha ha ha
  15. Cheers blokes. Havent poked about so with a bit of luck there may be more than 4. If not ,no big deal.Happy enough and it`ll be others that have to do without a kit as my needs come first
  16. I kind of believe that the owner puts a lot into the final result. Hancocks dogs are all from unworked stock and I know some that have been crackers (DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A HANCOCK THREAD ,I AM ONLY STATING A POINT) In fact ,someone on this thread who advocates the scientific worked parents only view ,had one and it was the best pot filler he`s had.
  17. Quavers !.. they go with a bottle of white!
  18. Nightmare. We have an inept press winding up a gormless public who then are pacified by an even more inept and gormless police force. About time the cops accepted that they are there to uphold the law,,not enforce it. They need to prove a crime before acting, not go on like a bunch of nazis. This just erodes support for the police even further
  19. Hello all Well, the wee pregnant Jill has been super affectionate this past while, specially with the wife. Constantly wants up,and getting a cuddle and a scratch behind the lugs etc. I`m at work for a while so the wife had her out in the garden yesterday. Sitting on her knee ,on her back getting a wee rub (wife says she`s more like a cat than a ferret) Anyway, she starts getting a bit fidgety so the wife puts her down, she starts going through the motions of going to the toilet but nothing there. Wife picks up on this and figures she is in labour !! Puts her back in her hutch where
  20. Just got meeself an air rainger in 177. First 177 I`ve had. Absorloootleeyy brilliant. One of the nicest rifles I`ve ever used and a lethal tool. Was astounded at the way it drops rabbits. Shot placement with the pcp is amazind(first one I`ve owned,,used a few tho)so headshots allround. Great gun
