Aye Well the Pajero engine finally gave up the ghost on the way back from the Dumfries game fair. No compression ,oil and water everywhere. I was away at work when it happened so I started to hunt about for a replacement motor. after seeing what was available, I couldn`t really see anything as good as the Pajero. If I spent a fortune on a posh 4x4 I would wreck it with dogs and ferrets etc. and every thing else looked crap. had a look at a Navara but wasn`t impressed and in the end I let the missus get an Audi TT 225 quatro (well it is a 4x4 and I have used it for ferreting cause

Aye have to admit I thought about the same, but when I saw the price of a half decent quad,I just put another engine in the Pajero and will keep it for another few years.

Aye I have used a vet in Kirkliston (Edinburgh ) before. Not too close but not exactly a million miles away. Were pretty good with a vasectomy on a hob and said they had plenty experience of ferrets. ATB

Aye Let us know how yeh get on. Whats not working ? the ferret or the ferret locator?? If yer up for it I might be able to get you out for a days ferreting near Haddington in a couple of weeks when I`m back home. Although it`s starting to sound like you`ve managed to get more permissions than most of us !! ha ha Good luck! Will keep yeh posted.

Aye Enjoyed the day on Sat. Lurcher racing was good but numbers were a bit low with all the other events on. Sat at the line under the tree wi the missus watchin the racing and by feck some oh they dugs were shiftin. Huvtae admit ma favourite dug was the yin that lost the final. Crackin looker. Pity I didn`t get the saluki x`s up for a wee run and the laddie couldnae make it up on sunday wi them either. Will definitely be back at this show next year as it was a well run wee show. ATB

Aye Right children, back on track !! I have seen a few types of lumps on ferrets. Some around the jaw area are to do with teeth and gum issues but have also seen absesses in the neck /jaw area and these are best drained and cleaned out by a vet. As I have said before,, If your kid had any problems you couldnt sort out, you would take it to a doctor Afford your ferrets the same care. If you dont know,,go to a vet. If you dont want to go to a vet, get rid of the ferrets. (general rant)

Aye Agree that almost any dog could be worked with ferrets BUT the only time I lost one to a dog ,it was to a Patterdale X terrier !! Be vigilant but I would not tell you not to try it,,,the dog might be fine with them. Good luck ! ATB

Aye Welcome to the forum bud. I feed Chudleys dry and a fair bit of rabbit. The shit on the dry food is fairly stiff but lets face it all ferret shit is horrble smelly stuff (bit like my own ) lol. Have had ferrets that turn their nose up at rabbit when there is dry food available but agree with the above, use a decent brand, Vitalin, James Welbeloved or my preference Chudleys. ATB

Aye. If one of your kids had a tick would you burn it with a fag,,or pinch it till it breaks of ??? I dont feckin think so. Just beacause it`s a ferret does not entitle it to any less standard of care. Use front line if ticks are very small, or wait till they are a wee bit bigger and use an autom tick remover or similar. All this hard man talk of fags and pulling them of just shows ignorance. ATB

Aye Got a Pajero 2.8 and manage aroung 25 mpg, no more. The next motor will probably be an A4 4x4 diesel estate. (just sold a 340 bhp celica, personal best,,,3 mpg over a full tank and 67 miles, ha ha destroyed a set of tyres on that run as well)
