  1. I'd take a punt on a Hancock bred dog if it was the cross I was after there no different from any other running dog there's still the same amount of chance 50/50 weather there'd be any good or not its all a short straws game the only bit that don't sit well for me is putting silly money in a peddling c*nts hands
  2. Saltmoon post your real name An are you on fb? Im waiting on some pups to be born out of my nearly 7yr old 26tts collie/grey x whippet grey bitch to a 10yr old f1 22tts bedlington x greyhound if you can be vouched for by any of the admin on the working bedlington group as genuine An not someone who as more dogs than hot dinners I'll hook you up mate only cost I'd require is chipping, worming to 8wks it's a repeat mating as my pup I kept from the previous litter was put to sleep sadly due to something out of my control. ps this is not a add for every man/woman thinking he can get a pup sorted fo
  3. thats my way of thinking mine as well it's only money
  4. Some of the replies to this post are f****d up as shit next were be hearing of up An coming lurcher lads/lasses neglecting there duties of care to there dogs once there dogs have had bad injuries just because they've heard on the hunting life forum we're all the real dog me hang out it's not the right way to go about things using a vet. ffs using a vet is a small price to pay if it fixes your valued tools to your trade it's only money!
  5. I'd say my 2 come in at about £450-500max a year to maintain
  6. Jeff burrel lurcher which he bred the dam which was to to a cracking whippet dog,he done everything single handily 24tts.jeff told me the story behind the dam I bought this at 10wks old for £ and one of the best £80s ever spent on a dog.he adapted to anything as he was that laid back then Jeff started knocking the same way bred pups out at £400. smart dog man barging dog for £ fair play mate
  7. Yesterday I put Jeff Burrell lurchers in the search engine and came across the add for the pups for £400 each ffs the breeders must have spent the day on a smack binge.it's like a game of Chinese wispers they gain 200 yrs of line breeding every time someone has a litter ffs there not even a line for a start with the amount of shit that's been added husky being one there a type that gets hyped up to drum up sales I feel sorry for some gullible fool that buys in to this shit
  8. nice one mate any pictures? I'm a big fan of the bedlington xs
  9. Let's see your pictures of line of lurchers you keep I'm not bothered on cross let's see them (Keep it clean lads I don't want to see people talking down or ribbing each other in any kind of slagging match I just want to see some fine bred running dogs)
  10. smart mate I know who you are know by the bedlington greyhound nothernlite
  11. I like a good old fashioned broken or rough coat
  12. its hard but worth it. There used to be more inbred lurcher strains about years ago. You would see some families like peas in a pod.Breeding properly isnt easy. Ive said it before but if you cant put pups/dogs down you shouldnt be breeding anyway, its not for you. If we had never practiced inbreeding we would never have got pure breeds. still plenty of line breeding among the racing/showing seen that still going on but wouldn't think there's many that get put to sleep
  13. like my self DLloyd I've given up on breeding for showing I breed just a couple of pairs for pleasure this year so I can put all my energy An commitments in to my dogs as I'm expecting some pups out my bitch so it'll be a busy time with training the one I keep for my Sen An getting there mother fit to run once the season gets underway
  14. I practice proper line breeding with canarys for the show bench the amount of yearly wastage is out this world I keep records of everything it's hard work if you want to do it correctly it's not going to be a easy with lurchers at all with canarys it's a fast turn over I average from the 2015-2016 breeding season 2015 I bred 53 young with only one being any good for the show bench An 2016 out of 56 young 2 being any good for showing I done very well at the national show showing but that's from a show mans point of view with lurchers it's going to be one hell of a task for proper line breeding
  15. You wouldn't be able to breed successfully with just one pair say father daughter An keep going like that you'd probably get to third generation before the dog meets his maker as time would catch up with him unless you breed out of young gear then you'd get a few more generations in to the line but your probably better off starting with your stud then keeping 3 or more cast very close related greyhounds and culling hard the shit ones also you'd need a army of blokes with the same dedication as your self to keep a close line going
  16. I bred this cross the beginning of last year out of my Collie/greyhound xwhippet greyhound to a class half x bedlington x greyhound I kept a real cracking bitch for my Sen she was a little demon really easy trained An entered to the ferreting crack like a duck to water her ability to find gear to run was bang on but sadly I lost her due to circumstances out of my control I was just wondering if any one else runs the cross An there thoughts are on them I'm just surprised not more people run the traditional bred gear tbh
  17. Who's had experience with this cross An how did you find them in your experience?
