  1. there is already a small sliding door panel sown into the top right of the main mesh panel. for feeding water etc, with regards to only keeping a pair of zebra finches in there i would have to throw mesh over the whole of my garden to keep what birds i have got. breeding time i put birds in breeders. fireman what are recommended stocking levels? does nobody keep canaries in cages anymore? the cage has been built to easily be added to in the future but i would have thought it big enough for the dozen small birds i have at the moment. the safety porch can be added easily in good time. i was goi

  4. as title says this is my new aviary i have nearly finished, just have to felt the roof. then take it all apart and put it up again outside. its made up of 6'x 3' panels so 3ft sq internal measurements and 6 ft tall. next year i will add another two panels to make it 6 ' long 3 ' deep and 6' tall. then i will add a shed probably 3'sq again. mostly made of 2"x2" rough sawn and 9mm ply. base is a pallet with 3/4" ply. what should i use on the floo?. housing trio painted quail, pair diamond doves, canaries and pair of zebras
  5. we had a bull mastiff rescue. we got it as a biter, but wanted it to guard our yard. locked up in the day loose at night. that dog was great with all our other dogs from the word go, never botherd the hens or ferrets..big softie really. the yard at the top had a pair of rottis. the day we got the mastiff the dog rotti came to see what was new. hackles up and forward like. it got dropped in seconds. that bull mastiff had to get pts. one weekend my mate was sitting with it, givin it a fuss and his mum turned up to walk her dog around the area. she had met the dog many times before, but the dog h

  7. made up with her she got a gud jump, recall, broken to ferrets chickens etc she hunts up abit in the day but thats because shes been ran with a terrier pack, but great nose and works cover
  8. close with the patt mate she got an 8th fell terrier and an 8th beddy the rest is split between whip and grey. her brother lookd a straight cross beddy grey 24" dad was whip grey half cross and mum was whippet x beddy fell

  10. no sbt but i have seen pics of similar looking dogs with sbt in the mix. origionaly i was after a bull whip so i see youre thinking.
  11. i picked her up a few weeks ago. travelled 3 hours each way, the lad selling her had bred her himself and had a belly brother. he kept these two back and decided the dog was better for him, shes about 19"tts and 28lb 2 years old. any body guess her breeding?

  13. i usualy push my fingers further into their mouth if their nippy. but if its a propper biter, then maybe save that method until it doesnt bite down hard.
  14. hold the thing around the front legs and neck so it cant bite you.let it struggle untill it gives up, offer it youre knuckle, if it tries to bite scruff it until its calm. then repeat. keep doing it, once it doesnt try and bite imediatly try stroking its face, and repeat where neccesary, just persevere. dont let it win. good food and lots of handling will do it.
  15. dont hesitate when taking them out of the hutch. just get youre hand in, otherwise its abit of a game if you keep retracting youre hand. i picked mine up at 14 weeks they where also a litle nippy. i just stick my finger further into their mouth if they nip. they soon get that its an unpleasent experience having my fingers in their mouth
  16. im just making a bow back single box its 12" wide 7"deep and 6"tall 1/2" ply just need some 4mm for the back.
  17. my mates castrated rotwiller got on my lurcher bitch on her first season tied an everyfin but he had only been done a month before so i guess he still had the urge.
  18. got the first rabbit of the season with a kit from this year, about 18 weeks old, little bit early but got some new nets today so just had to try them out. had a look around an picked a three holer in woodland, so not much ground cover, good fast bolt, net worked well and ferret followed straight out. well happy, dogs and ferrets fed.
