  1. Used to have one on our shoot same as that. Brilliant workhorse. Good all round tool. Got a Kubota RTV900 now which is better ride but not as reliable. Propshafts are sh!t and sloping roof not as good for lamping. Kawasaki is great. Have fun mate
  2. Most .17HMR's as far as I know aren't free floating anyway. Got a synthetic 22 and a wood 17. Synthetic much more practical.
  3. superteds webcam is knackered

  4. Dear Mr Roe, I cannot advise you what to do as this is a mater for you. I have not seen the ground, but if in doubt of your experience to take a safe shot in that scenario, my advise is don’t become involved. Using a silenced firearms is preferable, do not inform the police in case they take a draconian view that this should not happen because it might cause a police call out or complaint etc. The police these days, here and there, operate a ban it culture to avoid what they see as potential problems. What they should be doing is supporting you and advising the public
  5. I can shoot from the top of the pavillion building to bait 20 or 30 yards away. Will probably borrow a mates night vision scope so I don't attract too much attention with the lamp. Thanks for everyones help. The BASC firearms team told me NOT to ring the police.
  6. Got a reflex on mine. Not pretty but does what it says on the tin plus no probs with rust. Just spray WD down it when it's been p!ssing it down and it'll be fine. I stuck a mod sleeve on so no tinny sound. Shoots tighter groups. Good buy for the money £200 all in
  7. It's deepest surburbia mate. Only the cemetery is open and beyond that more houses. Spoke to BASC and they confirmed its up to me as someone said earlier. I may well borrow a mates nightvision set up and go at 2 or 3 in the morning. There is a 160 acre farm a mile from it where we shot 23 off in no time so you can see the problem.
  8. Keep em in the edge of the beam not directly on them. Same for charlie. Try a different colour now and again. I have blue, amber and red but somtimes I use white. I keep the hares and bunnies down to keep the pikeys off. Can always tell when they've been lamped before but just a change will often do the trick.
  9. They are great. Get one mate. Will last years
  10. Thanks for that. Aware of the 50mts rule and thats from the centre of the road but its 150 yards min from there anyway. Trouble I have is that locals are feeding em so they are fox friendly. Will ring the FEO Cheers
  11. Been asked if I can help "relocate" some problem foxes at a local cricket pitch. All around the site are houses with a cemetery to the south where I'm sure they are breeding. Because of houses and bunny huggers overlooking the the place snaring and cage trapping will be a problem. I could definitely shoot them. Would use a silenced .22 or .17 with them coming to bait from a raised position.(don't want to use centrefire). Would be purely as a favour to the groundsman. No payment asked for or offered My ticket is open. I am insured So the questions are. Has anyone on here got experie

  13. Have always hand fed after release then switch to mainly hoppers but still hand feed the woods at night so they have something to come back to and hedges heavily in areas of the drives but there are hoppers all over the place. Always found the poults come running to the sound of the engine on the atv but we rear ours from day olds so they get used to it on the rearing field. Mixture of hand feed and hoppers works great for us.
  14. The Meopta Artemis is a great lamping scope particularly with reticule 4. The sight picture is as clear as S & B no question. For the money they are sh!t hot. They are going up in price though because of the euro. The T3 is a great rifle but whatever you decide stick a mod on it. Happy hunting
  15. All the wood CZ 17 stocks I've seen are straight ie ambidextrous
  16. I'm a lefty too. I have a CZ.22 with a right hand all weather stock and get on fine with it but my CZ .17 American is a wooden straight stock with a right hand action. It's a great piece of kit. So great that the 22 is gathering dust.
  17. JACK PYKE £20 GREAT VALUE FROM SHOP OR LOADS OF WEBSITES
  18. We had a good season. Birds held well right up to the end but the north and east winds after crimbo meant we had to change drives round the opposite way for the first time ever. Returns were 53% partridge and 51% on the pheasant though to be fair we had a good few wild stock of pheasants as well as released. We've had byzanty pheasants for the past 2 seasons and they are great holding well and great on the wing. We still have alot of birds on the ground but feed right through anyway. Hope you all had a great season, IT'LL ALL START AGAIN SOON!!!!!!!!!!
  19. first of its illegal. there a piece of piss to rear, no trouble at all but if you did release some they dont tend to stick around. OK MATE THANKS. WAS SORT OF HOPING IT WAS A NON STARTER ANYWAY
  20. The boss asked me today about the possibility of rearing a few quail to put down (novelty I guess). Is it legal? Will Frenchies shove them off and are they hard to rear? Any help appreciated
  21. We have maize, chicory (2nd and 3rd year) and triticale side by side in certain game crops and it works a treat. Maize has obvious food value but attracts rats as you will know. The triticale is still up now and I'm a big fan. It holds pheasants well but partridge better and it's great for working your dogs. This year we may try some millet but we're in a stewardship scheme so we're limited. (they won't let us put maize in) Look at GCWT website. They are on the ball
  22. Never had any trouble with mine but wrap it round something and pull through. Rips into your hand if you don't. Every 6/700 rounds i fill the barrel with millfoam like the centrefires as i agree its a dirty cartridge. If the empties are sticking you have bad fouling in the chamber. Time for a real clean then. Millfoam then the boresnake works for me.
  23. Mornin folks New boy on here. Looking to learn and hoping to help if i can. Part time keeper in rothley leics. hope to meet some new mates. Love foxing and anything to do with rifles and spaniels
