cooper101 replied to smokey-one's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Does the wife know that your decision too move too Devon is based on wether or not your satisfied that there's enough game down there based on what lads on here tell you?? Lol I'd imagine there's plenty there if you know we're too look...just like Surrey there's good spots and bad spots.....anyways good Luck with the move....Atb billy -

I brought a led lensar p7.2 for my air rifle, 50 for the rifle kit... But it's about 30 just for the torch...I use it for walking dog and it's a good little thing for small fields paddocks etc....it's got a tight spot and floods well runs off aaa batteries so far haven't changed them and missus uses it constantly on when walking after dark so it lasts well...I was really surprised how well it works it's a torch at the end of the day...but considering I brought it solely for my air rifle it was a bonus when I found I could run the dog with it if something pops up when I'm just out for a walk af

I always carry superglue and activator....believe me in a crisis you will understand be it me or the dog if it's desperate enough that stuff is a godsend....sliced my arm open with a Stanley and a chippy sealed me back toogether with glue and acti and I've used it ever since for bleeders if there's nothing else about...!!!no I'm not saying ppl should glue there dogs back together but it's a handy bit of kit in a crisis.....!!! I think the problem here is the name Hancock lights a fire up some peoples arses in a good way,and burns like a soggy sock between there cheeks in others, you either had good experiences with them or bad, but at least they are out doing what we all love, wether or not there the best at it, as long as I got a dog by my side that will do his or her best for me when I call on them I'm happy, I love lamping and I love lurchers in general...whoever bred them!! I love the sport, I love the failures I love the successes, that's the beauty of the dog game, your dog may reign supreme for 5 or so years

I feel sorry for you...clearly only had shite out running with you and in that case it's no wonder you have that much spout about Hancocks and being shite..I've owned and seen Hancock lurchers that would make most dogs look like 3legged sausage dogs it's not the breeding it's the man on the other end of the lead Hancock or linebred legend....!!!

I think with dogs be they from Hancock or linebred from your own family....put that pup in the wrong hands and its going too end up shite, I've seen dogs from great working parents and working grandparents turn out badly....again owner was too blame in my opinion....!!! It's easy too blame the breeding for poor quality dogs but I've seen good and bad come from homebred and Hancock, look more closely at the owners....just my opinion Atb billy

Boooooring Luke ferret you have posted 3times without a reply moaning about Hancock lurchers, there are lads out there with dogs that do just as good as the best dogs you know.....you clearly have an issue with Hancock why not take it up with him....as for his dogs as said already there a niche in the market for lads who don't have years of working bred collies lines too go too when they want too go hunting, as for fly ball try fallow, roe, fox regular in fact 8 year old still does them and more bunnies you can shake a stick at....seen one do 12 rabbits 3roe 2charlie single handed numbers like

Never thought I'd hear Mr Plummer slagging off Hancock. I don't think this is who you think it is..!! Brian Plummer your thinking aren't you?? Are you serious? You're saying it's not him then? Sorry for being the bearer of bad news so close too Xmas but no I don't believe it is...I may be wrong but my gut feeling is no definatly not, bet u were all star struck and flustered when u saw him post on the thread and then pm him for his signature...lol I knew u didn't I was seeing where it would go or if he might have even corrected me....yis billy

A Man can charge what he likes for his pups if he charges at all, if somone thinks it's worth it then that's there decision....a 10k pup can turn out no better than a gifted pup and vice versa....dogs aren't like cars fortunately I.e you get what you pay for....!!! It's luck and lot of effort that gets you a good dog it's not set in stone how any pup will turn out....!!!

Working class doesn't mean what it used too the class divide is huuuge!!! Working road sweeper.......right through too millionaire Tarmac and driveway layers.....!!! £1000 too one member of the working class is a sum they wish they would see when they go too the cashpoint....and a sum the other end of working class would pay for a chicken that thinks it's Mike Tyson ....just my opinion lads

Is There A Springer With A Multi Shot Mag?
cooper101 replied to GruffaloGriff's topic in General Airgun Discussion
That was a great read....really nice when somone asks an interesting question and you get an answer like this one...never knew any of that....thanks for sharing that...!!! Billy -
I didn't say it guaranteed they would be looked after but unfortunately we live in a society where money is king....I said its second best chance u got of it being looked after if you can't pass it on too a friend!!!!

Nothing wrong with selling a good dog in my eyes...if say a man has a cracking dog and put 2years of his time and money into it and circumstances changed by should somone come along and get that dog for nixies??? Good dog well trained nothing wrong with £600 and that's a bargain too say a man who doesn't know much about running dogs and wants learn fast hand over the cash no hassle..get straight out the dog would probably teach that man a lot, the price is nothing a lab with the same amount of training would cost a lot more....if u ever put proper time into training an animal and you didn't ha

Age To Enter A Pup On The Lamp To Rabbits
cooper101 replied to springfield's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I always start with the basics sit ,stay and heel, when they master that I teach the retrieve, I don't care if the pups 6months or a year if it doesn't have the basics I won't take near quarry....and the final thing I do before I start ferreting with my pup is stock break it...ferrets, sheep, chickens, etc....now I've had some pups not grasp this till nearly 8months I've had one do it all before 5months...that one was ferreting at 6months and when I was happy with him retrieving too me and steady enough I took him lamping at 8months all picked runs nothing that would dishearten him....I believ -
Maybe they all decided too get along and help each other , and there too busy writing informative books on there experiences with lurchers and running dogs for other dog men too learn from there knowledge and gain valuable information too better there dog craft....or maybe there keyboards broke after one too many rows over who's the best ???

Clulite Lazerlite La11 Led Opinions
cooper101 replied to rickymc1's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I've tried everything too be fair and most lights these days do a good job...but light force are the lamps too beat...170striker is the lamp Won't leave my house without....they got a lamp for everyone lance for the small paddock fields, striker for large fields and blitz for open land like fenland.....!!! Only thing I don't like is there silly lamp/battery connector socket that always slips out I always end up wiring straight too the battery...not knocking the lamp your talking about but I think all other lamps have got a lot of catching up too do when it comes too lightforce...the spot is th -
Cheers for the reply I will use some off the things u sed , he will retrieve a dead rabbit but doesn't seem to want to pick a live one up . In all fairness it sounds like he's just excited and unsure what too do when he's caught...I would not worry about scaring all the other bunnies off in the area and wait and call him and reassure him you want him too bring it too you....I know it's gutting when the pups clearly done a good job but inexperience gets in the way but there not machines...even ppl who are trained and trained again can forget bits that in training they do perfectly...if u h
