  1. Do more research!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before trying to look after a creature that totally dependent on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Colour choice entirely what you prefer.
  3. It could be too much or it could possibly be hormones causing her to have a very heay moult, it has happened to mine in the past. It usually makes the tail go bald. Don't worry it will soon rectify itself.
  4. If you are weaning them on mince only that is your problem. There is no calcium in it so you will need to add a calcium supplement. If you start now you may be able to the weaker ones right.
  5. The best permanent solution is to get oneor both castrated, as a castrated hob will not have the hormonal changes in sring and so will happily live with other ferrets all year round. Hope this helps.
  6. Just make sure she has plenty of food and fresh water. If you like you can give her lactol as an extra supplement.
  7. Try to find a ferret club near you. These usually attend game and country fairs doing PR which will often include ferret racing. Get in touch and offer your help and this way you will be able to race your ferrets and promote them in a positive way. Hope this helps
  8. It would have been a good idea to read up on breeding first, then you would know the answer to a basic question as that. I hope you have good homes lined up for surplus kits.
  9. I first had a polecat hob delivered by road courier, AMTRAK I think (the driver said it had stunk out his van). I then visited them and the ferrets were either in a long shed about 30' x 10' with cages floor to ceiling on both sides and if you couldn't find one in there then there were about 200 housed in old pig stys. I brought a albino and polecat jill and a white hob. The albino turned out to be pregnant (she had 10). The polecat was the best tempered ferret I have ever owned and she was a fine worker. She lived until she was about 13 years old. I went there in the early mid eighti
  10. I hope that all these kits have homes? If not that will be more in rescue....just what they need....NOT. A local rescue near me in Kent has at least 100 ferrets for rehoming so no need to breed!!!! I am sure there are other rescues with just as many. They all need homes.
  11. The only thing with summer meat feeding is the risk of food poisoning. Be very careful to clean out every scrap of untouched food. As anything left behind will soon get fly blown with risk of maggots which will soon hatch into more flies and the more flies the less popular you are going to be with family/neighbours. I still believe that complete food is better in the summer unless you live in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours to complain. Just my opinion.
  12. Just be patient. Try and work them with an experienced worker. They will then pick up what they are supposed too do.
  13. Use a vet!! That is what they are there for!!
  14. Hiya mate, crobin840 told me to get in touch with you. She knows im looking for a couple of poleys or poley xs and said that you breed um. Do you have any gills available that i could buy please?
