  1. try downloading some free calls off internet to a mobile phone and play over the speaker. Heard this is quite effective and virtually free!
  2. It's called manure & fine to leave behind. just not on a footpath, nr a gate or along the hedgerow
  3. if off on my permission for the same reason tonight!
  4. well done mate, Just shows that as long as you are on the right side of the law, there's little to worry about.
  5. There is likely to be considerable energy left in a ricocheting bullet. Might be worth getting something like a .223 with a light bullet which is far more likely to fragment on impact. J. how about 17hmr? as i have this on my licence. noise is not really an issue.
  6. I have this same problem. Trying to increase the elevation of the shot as much as possible will help, but this is the main issue with .22rf. Basically its just a ball of lead skipping off the ground. (My land is all grass with very little stone, but still bounces like hell. Be interested to know how quickly the energy is expelled though.
  7. Isnt this illegal? only if electronic, a blown call is perfectly legal.
  8. Well i should be in bed (start work at 5am!) but the perfect weather got the better of me today. I got to my shiny new permission at around 9 o'clock, unlatched the massively noisy gate and rolled into the drive. Clanking the gate shut behind me i had a quick look through the handheld nightvision into the first field. Nothing. Drove to the top of the track, and removed my CZ from the case, and clamped on the lamp. Mag loaded, lamp ready, i walked into the second field. Another flash with the NV revealed a couple of rabbits about 150yds towards the top end of the field. I strolled around th
  9. I thought that all air rifles has to be sub 12ft/lb with the heaviest of pellet available? I know of a case where somebody local to me was using 14s in an air rifle putting out 11.8ft/lb, and he got pulled. The police checked the rifle on their calibrated kit with 16s and it went to 12.6ft/lb, he was done. The police said that maybe he was set for 14s but the fact is he COULD have had 16s. The police can use whatever pellet they like mate, if this takes your rifle over the limit then be prepared to suffer the consequences....hence why most sub 12 air rifles are in the low 11's to al
  10. do they just cross reference the log book holder of the reg of the vehicle to find out you have an FAC?

  12. never tried an off the shelf deek, but usually shoot 1 when decoying for woodies, and after putting it out does attract a lot of crows! I usually set up any shot crows just to the side of my main woody pattern.
  13. Think the accuplels are 14.3 grain? Why you need heavier mate? They have done me good for a good many years in my superten. Heres a good link http://www.extorian.co.uk/shooting/pellets.html?grains=16&velocity=560&energy=11.14&rifleLegality=Yes&pistolLegality=No+%28Requires+F.A.C.%29
  14. Look forward to the footage bud.
  15. had one and got rid. They're ok, but expensive for what they are. I think the idea is that you can set the laser for say 25yds and the main scope for say 40yds, and it eliminates the need to either a) look through the scope for the 25yd range, or aid/eliminate with mil dot adjustment if quarry in either of these ranges. I just didnt get on with it. Have a std 4x12x50 nikko sterling mountmaster on my BSA superten now and invested the refunded money in a rangefinder. Works a lot better and takes guess work out of judging the distance (you will still good rangeqork with the laserking
