  1. Hi John good luck with the shop - I was Under the name of Mr. Tumbleweed on REAL Rabbiters site but was kicked off for havin a difference of opinion with the King of the mods.... I need a new spade, would like to put an order in and pick it up at one of the shows , All the best X mr. tumbleweed
  2. Hi John decided to drop a net after all, it was pissing down with rain but as we all know you can wait a long time for the right night. Only did the one drop and got 3 rabbits, used the rest of the evening having a shine round. We saw plenty, and it is hoped that the weather should be fine for tomorrow night. The wind is comming from the WSW gusting up in the evening (Accuweather prediction which have proven to be fairly good) So hopfully it will be all on for tomorrow, have planned several drops. I have never had a really big number of bunnies for one drop yet, but I do live in hope.
  3. Nice one John I will be using one of Molecatchers finest baskets, I can't be buggering bout with all those loose bits of string, hazel poles, half hitches, and bloody clove hitches... I have enough trouble tieing my shoe laces The wind is dropping off though, may just go out with the dogs regards Mr. E
  4. Well what can I say…. I was rather suprised to read such negative comments concerning somebody that I regard as a good friend of mine.. As for this article ….. have you all read it ? or do you just want to put the boot in ? The article itself is really neither here nor there, you are given a space with somewhere around 800 to 1000 words, and in an effort to get it all in you inevitably leave something out. As for answering the questions posed by Mr. Molecatcher, why should he ? This article closes along the lines of ' what ever the method you use, as long as it works for you carr
  5. I have had a look at a few different baskets, and decided on getting one off Mr. Molecatcher. I took delivery about a week ago, and I am very happy with it. I can manage to set 100 yards in about a minute walking backwards in the dark wearing diving flippers ... I have not really used it in anger yet, but I have had a little practice with it and it works very well. regards Mr.E
  6. That just makes me twice as paranoid ! regards Hedgie the veggie
  7. Hello mr. mole good post as always... I would just like to say it was not me on the golf course.... I have not been there for ages.. ever since the goal posts were put up a bit further up I bet that longneting game is really good never tired it on me own... All the best respectfully yours Mr. E
  8. I am using the magnum ones and they are good it's just that the ground is rock hard on that particular field. I am sure the nets will be alot quicker to set after a good spell on wet weather. The poles seem to be quite long thought, but with wetter weather i guess you will have to push them further in the ground to stop them toppling over when a rabbit hits hard. Thats has happened a couple of times now becuase it can be hard pushing the poles in the ground with the bag in the way. That why i have started to back track checking the poles once the basket has been dropped and tighting the to
  9. hi just bought one in a second hand shop - brand new £2 real bargain it is called a porkert No. 5 - I recently Knocked up 11 Kg wiith it - I jointed up the bunnies and it minced up the bone well without to much trouble, but I did not put the back legs through, but it did the rest. It also juiced the veg and beaf fat up well. I did a search and you can buy them from Gilberts kitchen suppliers - It turns out that the one i bought is the smallest, and they do several larger versions. I fancy the Porkert No. 12 that looks well up for it, £50. Have a look, I think the No. 5 was about £3
