  1. Some lovely looking dogs on this thread! Heres a few of my little chap:
  2. Smart looking lad youve got there demon, thanks. Whats his breeding?
  3. A few months ago i met a mate of mine to take the dogs out together. He had a deer, grey, collie which was brindle. It looked a proper handsome bitch! Since then quite by accident iv ended up with a pup with brindle markings, although he looks black without being in the sunlight. I was hoping to see some pics of brindle and tiger brindle dogs.
  4. A line of guns stood in a field waiting. As the sound of the beaters gets nearer a pheasant comes over and a fella raises his gun, fires both barrels, misses and shouts "oh feck it"! This happens twice more and eventually the next gun along who happens to be a clergyman sais "if you keep swearing the lord will strike you down my son". Another pheasant gets up and again the fella raises his gun, fires both barrels and shouts "oh fecking hell"! The clouds parted, a finger appeared between them, a bolt of lightning hits the clergyman and a voice booms from the clouds "oh feck it"!
  5. When i started out getting into lurchers and i was ready to get one of my own i told my mate i wanted one that could demolish rabbits all day long as thats its main job by far but i also want it to be able to tackle bigger stuff like foxes, hares and the odd deer. His reply was "if you want it to take fox youle be needing some bull in its make up". So far iv had beddy whippets, collie xs and beddy whippet greys but still no bull xs. I will probably get a bull x one day as i like them, there look and their bouncey, everywhere flat out attitude they seem to have. All of the running dogs iv had h
  6. Welcome to the madhouse! Lol!! Nice to see you!
  7. 50/50 mate, that way youle produce 75/25s. Or 100% collie to produce 50/50s! Both are cracking lurchers and iv no doubt youle sell um all easily.
  8. Mines on beta puppy but has discovered the raw meat i feed the adults and he eats that a lot with no probs.
  9. Just say hese 25/25/50, its as near as dammit anyway mate and it dont matter really so long as he does what you want of him. Mine that i picked up on saturday is border, beardie, grey and i dont even know the percentages, i never remembered to ask! I know hese more grey than collie, i can see the "long dog" in his deep chest and general shape even at just 6 weeks old. Its easy to get to anal about the maths sometimes, just enjoy him mate. Kev.
  10. Whats wrong with frontline ? i've used it for years and its fine ..when the dogs had fleas bad i used flea collars also It may be just a local to me type thing but iv heard of resistance issues with it. May not be country wide tho.
  11. Dont bother with frontline, theres another called advantage. That should do the trick. Also it would be a good idea to get a professional pest controller in twice a year to do a residual insecticidal spray of your kennels/home. Ask them if they are able to guarantee their work.
  12. Iv got a beagle x jack russel and a plummer. There both crackers, would recommend.
  13. Some real crackers on this thread fellas! Here mine. I collected him this evening at 6 weeks old. The black has a very dark brindle running through it. Looking forward to bringing him on now!
  14. Start off with a small fence/wall. Put him on one side of it and yourself on the other side of it and call him. Im assuming that his recall is sorted by the way. If he does ok great, find a slightly taller fence/wall and do it again. If he dont seem sure offer him his favourite treat as a reason to jump over. Another way is to have him on a lead run up and jump over the fence/wall yourself. Make it fun and make a lot of fuss over him when he does it right and DONT get frustrated/angry if he fluffs it.
  15. "You can get a dog insured for about £8 a month; well worth it if you work your dog." Who does the insurance for that price?
  16. Looks to me like the papers are tarring us all with the same brush again and making out the true sportsmen are as bad as the shell suit wearing junky wankers with nothing better to than attack innocent people! Electric coller to signal trapped prey? Iron bars? With journalists like this c@#t we need more then just luck getting the ban lifted!
  17. Saying that tho if i had to do it again i would! Cracking dogs! I must admit i might get one of saxons white plummers next.
  18. Had to be done mate, i wanted one and thats where there bred most. In fact i dont know of any plummer breeders closer. Where you from mate? Next county to the breeder or me?
  19. Jamie m cheers fella, the plummers out of wyremead in lancaster. The sire was wyremead bob and the dam was wyremead maddy. Hese a little cracker! Brave as hell, dont feel pain or fear and willing to have a go at anything! And hese a right friendly, affectionate dog still tho for all that.
  20. 2good that sounds like a generous offer mate! Good on ya!
  21. Mines not started the bad habit of going to ground yet and i hope he dont! Lol!! Heres the link: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141639
